hello all,

i've got some dvd's backed up using memorex and after having hearing some bad reviews over here i have bought TY since then. but those memorex plays perfectly as of now but as ive read in the forum in the longer run or maybe in 1 or 2 months they will fail. so i was wondering if i should copy the backedup dvd in memorex to TY or take my original dvd and backup again in ty.

thanks.

Probably not a bad idea, since there have been reports of DVD's not playing properly after a bit of time.

Good luck,

yeah memosux to taiyo rocks (like one of our member puts it). but i'm confused whether to take the already backed up copy in memorex media to ty or do it again from original disk.

It depends on how badly you want the movie on the memorex. If you are not getting any errors, backing them up to taiyo yudens would be good, only if the movie is something you want to keep. Once those memorex start degrading, backup is usually not possible. Get them backed up while you can, or preserve the original movie disc (not the one copied on memorex).

thread teleported to relevant forum.

i have a big problem with Bulkpaq crap discs. some of them play but can't recopy, most of them don't even play. there's just too many of them for me to bother with, so i just reburn from original dvd's when i play one back and it skips like mad, otherwise i'll be recopying forever more

I would suggest ripping from the original discs to the TYs instead of from the Memorex to the TYs.

When evolution selects its agents, it does so at a cost, makes demands in exchange for singularity, and you may be asked to do something against your very nature. This force, evolution, is not sentimental. Like the Earth itself, it knows only the hard facts of life's struggle with death. All you can do is hope and trust that when you have served its needs faithfully, there may still remain some glimmer of the life you once knew.
