Does anyone know of a xbox virus that attacks Evox dashboard for a modified xbox. If so, is there a way to remove it and get the menu back to normal.

gotta be bs. Viruses are programmed to attack certain files or types of files. Unless someone found a way to compile a virus for it I doubt this is true. Plus transmitting it would be difficult seeing as playing games don't usually allow for that type of code to execute. The file system of the X-Box is not truely compatable with PC's, hence the need for FTP and XDK. Sounds to me like you simply fucked up your settings or removed or replaced files without realizing it!

I'm gonna have to agree with DanandJen on this one. Odds are, no virus and you just need to reinstall your dashboard GMonteC7. That should be an easy task if you have Auto Installer Deluxe or Slayers...also, if you made a backup of the directory right after installation, you could FTP it over. If you can't boot your dashboard at all, go with the afore mentioned. AID or Slayers.

Alright, so it wasn't a virus. However, someone did manage to get into my xbox when it was linked to the computer. The person messed with my settings and switched my evox.ini file around. I had go back and manually put everything back to the way it was using FTP. It was not fun. I was still surprised that someone could find a way to mess with my settings. Now I disable FTP on my settings. So you are all right. No virus.

getting into people xbox's through ftp is really easy sometimes. Some people have them hooked right up to their modems and pretty much with the default settings (username/password) so you just have to start hitting random IP's and sooner or later you get a hit. Sorry about yours getting penetrated....just crappy luck.
