Hello everyone today I have a question about where media is made
What I would like to know is what is the difference between media being made in Japan vs Media made in Taiwan?. I ask this because I was recently at the store and purchased Maxell DVD-R 50 pack but before I purchased it I made sure it said made in Japan and found one out of all that I checked and there was like twenty of them. I Could have got one hundred for the same price but there were none out of like one hundred that said maid in Japan. So just what is the big deal about where it is made?. Another question I have is what is the difference between DVD-R and DVD+RW?. Thanks for any answers.

Production standards are higher in Japan. The dye used is better quality. That said Made in Taiwan media is not bad. Just depends on who makes it. Verbatim and Ritek/Ridata are both made in Taiwan and will be fine.

That said if you're looking at a stack of Maxell or Fuji grab the made in Japan over the Taiwans.
