MSN had an article stating the lifespan of recorded optical discs like CDRs and DVDRs is about 2 to 5 years. Is this true, or are they just trying to scare folks away from recordables? I would hate to have my DVD+Rs go bad before I ever get to watch them (that would be wasted time and money).

Jury is still out and claims of longevity have still to be proved one way or another.
