Hi, i am looking at buying swap magic and the magic clips, but i came across these things called Ghost clips. Appearently, they work the same as magic clips, and you use them with Swap Magic. Has anyone ever heard of them, and if so, are the ghost clips any good? here is a link to a site that sells them: http://www.clearxbox.com/site/pages/prods/pstwo_gc.html
I ran into Ghost Switch and Magic Switch sets when I was surfing for a method to play backups and imports on my new slim ps2 not long ago. And although I can't vouch for whether the Ghost/Magic Switch methods work well or not I can say that the Slim Kit Pro set DOES work well.
I had previously done a couple of Flip Top jobs on my own and my friends PS2's and when I sold mine and bought a Slim PS2, I almost went for a flip top again. But after extensive research I decided on Slim Kit Pro because: A) It doesn't void your warranty. B) You don't need to open or unscrew any part of your PS2. C) It's cheap (9 USD), not as cheap as the Ghost Switch though.
Here's a link to where I bought mine. You can buy the bundle including the Swap Magic v3.6 discs or just the SlimKit Pro tools alone.

However be careful. If you have a silver V14 PS2 with the metal clip, make sure you purchase the Slimkit Pro SILVER model vs. the Slimkit Pro BLACK.
No, not for single disc games atleast. Any original game that spans a single disc will be fine.
However, any game that has multiple discs (like Star Ocean: Till the End of Time) that requires you to switch discs in game, you won't be able to switch the discs. This is one of Swap Magic's limitations, not the Ghost Switch's though. The only way to play backups for multiple disc copies with SM is to hope that they have a save point so you're able to shut the PS2 down and then just plop in SM then Disc 2 at start-up etc. Mod Chips have the upperhand on this, being that they can play Multiple Disc games with no hassles.
ok thanks. I would be okay with those installation steps, and i cant think of any 2 disk games that i own, or that i might burn at some point. has anyone else used ghost clips?
