Xbox PAL NTSC conversion (to get HD options) HELP!

I have a chipped PAL xbox with all the usual stuff on it.
I have got a HD television and the appropriate HD AV pack
(component cables)
This is what I know for a fact: There are no options for HD on the PAL xbox. (after much research)
I am getting a 480i signal which is pretty much the best I can expect with my PAL machine.
I have been told that you can through software, convert my xbox to NTSC, which then opens up options for 480p, 720p which are not supported in PAL mode.
There is a NTSC / PAL / AUTO option in the EVOX system settings but all that does is tell the machine to play games from different regions so please nobody tell me to do that. I can play NTSC games fine, but the machine will not output a prog scan signal until I convert it NTSC.
so, does anybody know where I can find the software to do this?
ps, I am not looking for a converter box, thanks

HEY I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a PAL xbox that now has options on the dash to select
480p, 720p and 1080i.
there was an app on my hard drive that i could never use before.
it was grey when everything else on the menu was white and I couldn't select it.
I always wondered what it was but since i plugged my HDAV pack in, I can use it, and it's the software i was looking for, i never knew it was on there already.
The difference is amazing, I am now soooo happy with my LCD, the king kong game although only in 480p is 100 times better than it was in 480i before switching to NTSC mode.
anybody else out there needing help with this just let me know, coz i know there is a lot of confusion over the PAL - NTSC thing.

hello!
i have a Xbox PAL version, i have a samsung LCD TV High Definition, i have a component cable.
When i've buyed the consolle, i thinked that xbox PAL version support HD mode automatically, but is not like this.
i buyed PAL games like Syberia, The Warriors, TrueCrime L.A. but i don't see any difference on the graphics signal.
PAL GAMES ARE DEVELOPPED IN HIGH DEFINITION OR NOT?
PAL XBOX MUST BE CONVERT IN NTSC TO GET HD?
ONCE I CONVERT MY XBOX IN NTSC, CAN I USE PAL GAMES IN HD?
WHAT IS EVOX SYSTEM?
IF YOU CAN, I NEED A "TUTORIAL" TO KNOW STEP BY STEP HOW I CAN GET HIGH DEFINITION ON PAL XBOX. (what chip i must use, what software i need, and how to install)
AFTER A LOT OF RESEARCH IN THE WEB, I FIND YOUR POST IN THIS WEBSITE...
there are no information on web, i think that this mistake is made by microsoft.
PLEASE...I'M DISPERATED

Yeah, the problem is that 99% of people on here are using NTSC and don't evern know that the PAL machines are diffrent.
It took me weeks to find out about this.
PM me if you want and I'll run through it with you on messenger or something?
Bascialy, you need your xbox to me chipped (or softmodded but that's not as good) it's not a hardware mod to change to NTSC, there is a bit of sotware that is preinstalled on the xbox when you have EVOX, which is a bit like an operating system. It replaces the greem options screen that you normaly have. (you need the chip to be able to install evox)
i'll be on here for the next hour or so so any questions, just ask or PM to get my messenger name.
ps, yeah, big mistake for microsoft, especially when the packaging on the cable doesn't mention any of this, and the machine can do HD that's the annoying thing so why have they diabled it? god knows.

Probably In Europe they think that there are not the technological diffusion needed for selling a consolle HDready.
Probably they said "we can make a PAL consolle without 720p 1080i signal because there are no PLASMA or LCD displays in all the homes... so, if there are less diffusion of lcd or plasma displays than u.s., we will sell less consolles."
WHY THE PRICE OF NTSC AND PAL CONSOLLES IS THE SAME???
IF WE HAVE NO HD SIGNAL IN EUROPEAN XBOX, WE HAVE TO PAY XBOX LESS!
BUT I HOPE THAT THIS IS NOT THE WAY... I HOPE..
PS: can u let me know a name of some good modchip; or map or photo of circuit where i have to put the mod?
