TEAM DST has made a claim to have made the first Sony PSP mod chip available for the PlayStation Portable machine.
With features that include a built-in processor, dual memory cores, and its own custom interface just sounds too unbelievable. But, TEAM DST says they have done it. They also say that the chip will allow for connection to a USB hard drive, all of which only requires a single watch battery.
The current plan is to sell the chip on eBay for $29.99, but eBay's policy doesn't allow the selling of mod chips, so this auction will probably be disguised.
Features include:
The Mod Chip Has The following features:
? Full control Input through the psp?s screen and controls
? Separated From The motherboard
? Custom Interface
? Built In 88mhz Processor
? Dual Memory Cores (allowing For expansion)
? Software completely open source
? Completely internal
? Allows play of import UMD films
? Complete override of software on the psp
1.Homebrew Mode Only Allows software to be run off memory stick
2.Normal Mode Allows of chip?s default features and signed code on the memory stick
? CPU Clocking allows speeds of up to 365mhz
which may damage the CPU so we don?t recommend it
? And through an optional cable you can connect a USB hard drive to the chip requires you to use the chips own software you can not use it directly with the psp?s firmware
? Full Instructions
? Requires One standard watch battery which will be included in the package
The Sony PSP modification scene has already been plagued with hoaxes of everything from firmware downgrades to trojans. If this is another in that vein there won't be much surprise, but if it proves otherwise then it will be a major sting for Sony.
This might actually be a hoax though, as the only picture of the mod chip that was distributed is a blurry one.
These hoaxes come and go all the time. So far this doesn't seem credible.
so its bull $hit? nooooooooo
Now i will never be able to watch movies on my Japanese psp :(
