Simple question I've been wondering about. So far I've only used normal DVD+R to back up videos, usually having to use something like DVD Shrink to compress.
My drive is capable of writing to Dual or Double Layer discs. Is it worth it to get some DVD+R DL or DVD-R DL discs for the extra storage, so I don't lose any quality? I haven't shopped around much for different types of media. Is the cost reasonable compared to what's usually available?
If you care about everything on the disc including extras, then yes. Keep in mind that DL media is much more expensive, though.
If you only care about the main movie, then single layer media is really all you need.

Welcome to the forum. I agree w/ DakotaFan. Depending on the movie I have done about 60 D/L DVDs. The price I last paid for Verbatim D/L was about $2.00 US per disk. I can buy Verbatim S/L 16X on sale for $13.00 for 50 whenever BestBuy puts them on sale.
That sounds decent, thanks. I'll keep this in mind. I usually buy discs when I see a good sale or rebate offer at one of the big chain stores. I'll keep my eye out for good deals on DL discs for my more imortant projects.
