When I insert the disc the ps2 makes weird sounds, usually after 30 seconds the playstation2 sig pops up then another 30 seconds it goes back to the browser screen and it says there is a ps2 disc but the same thing happens over ad over. My cousin gets his swap magic to work over and over with no delay, it's frustrating, any help? =/

I have a fliptop and so does he btw

i had the same probz about two days ago has your swap magic disc got ne scratches on it or is it clean, also is your laser clean i find usually if you give either a wipe then they will start behaving normally again. ps if the strange sound is a weird clicking noise then i think thats to do with the laser having trouble reading the disc thats currently in. Hope this helps :-)

I was a little paranoid aswell first time. i kept on getting disc read error on ffix for ps1. However after using this procedure i haven't had any disc read errors.

plz note before you attempt to do this make sure you have a jewellers screwdriver and a normal size one. (both phillips head) i found out the hard way! Also make sure that you have some rubbing alcohol and q-tip. I used nail polish remover.

1. Neways first off you start by unplugging your playstation and turning it upside down.

2. Remove rubberstoppers and you will reveil some screws undo all off these and make note where all the large screws come out as these can damage wires/circuit board if put back in the wrong ones. (i used a sellotape to mark where they came from).

3. Then flip console back over so ps2 logo is facing upwards. Then open her up! The ps2 opens up sort of like a book its hard to explain. However be carefull when opening it to not break nething.

If you have a can of compressed air or nething else that you can use i suggest cleaning the dust out of the fan. If there is any.

4. Next you should look to the right and you'll see a black square with two small screws. Open this up but being carefull that you don't snap it.

5. Once open you can see the laser dip the q-tip in the alcohol, then make sure that it isn't dripping with it, basically just moist. Then rub it on the laser in a CIRCULAR MOTION WITHOUT ADDING TOO MUCH PRESSURE for a bout a minute.

Not recommended to turn ps2 on yet as there is risk of laser blinding or recieving electric shock.

6. When done put it back together and load her up!!

Hope this helps as much as it helped me and soz about the poor grammar. ;-)
