Hi, would be very grateful if someone could help me with this problem.

I have just completed a 4.6Gb download of some avi files, however I am having problems playing it back from my hard drive in Windows Media Player and Winamp. In Media Player, for the first few seconds the file plays as it should. However, after this the picture suddenly surges forward ahead of the audio, until the picture is about one minute ahead of the audio. The picture then settles down and plays at a steady rate, however the picture and sound are completely out of sync.
After about a minute the picture then surges forward again, leaving the audio yet further behind.

Burnt these files to DVD hoping this problem would be eliminated if the files were being read off DVD rather than the hard drive. However, this made no difference and the same problem still exists.

It is very annoying, and means I can't play these files. I am using the latest versions of both Windows Media Player and Winamp.

Would appreciate any help here, as I really don't want to have wasted my time downloading these files.
