I am having problems when converting my AVIs to DVD.

The image stutters almost like if I was playing something on my pc and didn't have enough memory, but this is on my TV with my dvd player and sometimes the sound is not in synch with the image.

I thought it was my burner, but it only happens when I am converting AVI(DIVX) to DVD.

I am using WinAvi converter.

I have the latest version of WinAvi.

If anyone has any ideas about what this could be or is it because WinAvi is not the best program to use to convert, I am open to suggestions.

Usually Stuttering Playback is Caused from Burning at Too high of a speed or Crappy Media or a Combo of the Two....

When Burning Video DVD"s you should allways First Check the "Video_TS" Folder Plays Back Correctly in a Software DVD Player Like WinDVD or PowerDVD so you know the DVD has been Formated Correctly, And when you are ready to Burn your DVD you should Try burning the Disks at the Lowest speed that you can (2.4X..??)....

If it turns out to not be a Burning speed problem then it could be from other Things Like You encoded your AVI file to Mpeg-2/DVD useing a Different Frame rate than the Source....
Most Encoders suck at Converting Frame Rates and most do not do it Correctly and will cause Jumpy Playback especially when there is a Lot of Motion on the Screen....
Another thing that Causes a Stuttering Playback is encodeing useing the Wrong field order but this problem doesn"t make the audio go out of sync and it doesn"t cause Jumps in the Video it just Looks Like all Movement is a Little Jerky.....
