I have read a lot of the threads on the site. Some threads say use DVD Decrypter and then use VOB blanker. I can't get DVD decrypter to get pass 40 percent on the current counter, the progress still shows zero! I thought if I used AnyDvd, I would be able to use dvd shrink but it doesn't work either. I thought DVD Fab would let me decrypt it and save it to my harddrive. So far, nothing has helped, Please help.

Vob banker is not needed for this movie anymore. Current version of fab decrypter and shrink is all you need.

Forgive me for my stupidity. I see tons of threads on this and I am more confused than ever.
I only copy movies using shrink and decrypter. I now see from the above post that I will have to learn hot to use DVDFab Decrypter in order to backup Madagascar.
Can someone please spoon feed me. Is there a guide out there to teach me how to use DVDFab Decrypter? If so, please post a link.
Also, it appears that the free download link to DVDFab Decrypter is no longer available on this website (I know things changed on Jan 1).
I'd rather not get confused with trying to learn VOB blanker (and it now appears that it is not needed for this back-up anymore).
Therefore, can someone please tell me where I can go to get the most up-to-date version of DVDFab Decrypter and a guide on how to use it so I can burn Madagascar?
Thanks in advance from someone who has had very good success with using only DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink.

Ok, thanks alot folks, I at least got it to rip the dvd onto my hard drive. Now when I try to use DVD Shrink, I get the error message "failed to open file G:/Madagascar/video_ts/vts_08_1.vob" System cannot find the file specified. At this point, do I use VobBlanker? and if so, how?

When madagascar first came out, shrink would not get through the analyzing stage so VOB banker was needed. With the update to fab decrypter VOB banker is no longer needed for this movie.
Fab decrypter is a very easy program to use.
1. create a folder on your desktop naming it whatever before you start the program.
2. Now start the program and you will see a source and target. The source will automatically have the title of whatever original movie you have in the drive. Now whatever folder you created set for the target.
3. START
Now that you have the movie ripped to your hard drive use shrink then Nero.
HAVE FUN!!!!!!

Thanks for the help everyone. I'm almost convinced something is wrong with the disc. I finally got it ripped to my harddrive, I used DVD Decrypter and dvdfab and both of them got the movie on my harddrive in two different folders of course. But DVD Shrink, nor Nero will completely recognize the movie. Shrink still says "invalid data in madagascar/video_ts/vts_08_1.VOB. When I try to encode with Nero, it gets stuck about half way through while adding video files and that's it. Any suggestions?

I still can't believe "madagascar" is still around.
Anyways, here's what you need to do: **100% success regardless if it's RipGuard or ARccOS, no AnyDVD or DVD43 required. All tools are free, except for Nero**
<> rip the movie with DVD Decrypter via Mode, File F to your hard drive
<> or rip the movie with DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.6.8 to your hard drive
<> VobBlanker version 2.1.0.0 to process and filter out fake/bad cells
<> encode/transcode with DVD Shrink or Nero Recode 2
<> now burn it with any of your desire VIDEO_TS burning engines
That's it... easy as sippin' on some Hennessey.

I am having he same problem with madagascar. I too thought there was a problem with the disk (scatch etc). However, I now see I'll have to upgrade my tools.
I'll be sure to take thread as a guide and report back. Thanks
When I bought my dvd burner it came with nero 6. If I goto to Nero and I update, will it give me recode 2 with it?

Hey, thanks for all your help everybody. In the end, I did need to use VOB blanker. After that, and cleaning the disc, it worked no problem.

DVD Fab 2.9.6.8 worked like a charm. Didn't even need VOB blanker.
Once I see that DVD FAB version 2.9.6.8 can back up other newer movies, I am going to send them a donation.
Thanks DVD Fab, AlKohol and company

A simple method to bypass the protection and rip Madagascar is:
Rip using the ISO Read mode in DVD Decrypter
Open DVD Shrink - Go to File - Open Disk Image
Analyse - Re-Author - Main movie only - then burn with Nero or similar.
Easy - no other programs required.

Actually, I just burned Madagascar last night, neither dvdshrink or decypter would work with the movie. I ran DVD43 in the background along with shrink and didn't have a single problem. Sometimes using 2 programs will "double team" macrovision.
