pc wont boot after trying to partition

I tryed to partition my hd and it said something along the lines of partition error line 27.

Then it said it was gonna reboot. Then it rebooted and went to a black screen with a blinking white underscore at the top of the screen.

Can I do anything to fix this.

I tried to install a new windows xp but it wouldnt install.
It says press space to install goes to a blue screen where it copys data then reboots.

you may have corrupted your hard drive somehow. go to your hard drive manufacturers website and download the diagnostic utilitys for your drive

if the computer is under warranty just leave it alone and get intouch with hp and they should be able to fix it (dont tell them that you broke it just put the blame soley onto them lol) but otherwise

youll need to find out what make your hard drive is. it may tell you in the bios.

find out the make of your hard drive and ill point you towards the diagnostic utilities

1 year warranty right...I decide to fuck it up after the one year...

But I got it to work. I booted my windows xp off the cd. Then formatted the drive then installed it fresh over it. My stuff was still on it because it partitioned it right but something went wrong.

weird i know but I guess im lucky.
