I have a couple packs of Maxwell DVD-R's that came up with an ID of RitekG05. Are these of good quality or something I should be concerned about?

i personally have had great success with RitekG05 coded media in the past...mine were not under the Maxell brand, but they worked just fine for me..they happen to be Ridata Ritek branded from almost 3 years ago...they still playback quite well and scan in the low 90s even today~ :)
you will get varying opinions of RitekG05, some members have experienced MANY issues with them, i personally have NOT encountered such problems...there will be advocates on BOTH sides regarding RitekG05s...some like them, some hate them...
just see how they work for you, you should be just fine IF you get the same kind of luck i have had in the past with them~ :)

Ya, I've had nothing but trouble with Ritek, just look at these horrors.
Riteks also don't stand the test of time
I'll post some of my Maxell Ritek x8 DVD+R later.

A quick question... Which Nero program has that version of CD-DVD Speed? I have Nero 6 and mine doesn't look like that, not to mention it does not have the disc quality tab. Just curious... Thanks!

Ok all downloaded and I get an error message that says...
Drive does not support this function.
The function I was attempting to use was the disc quality function. Why am I getting this error?

I have a NEC 2500A. I have never done any firmware updates because it has worked just fine without any!

i'm not sure if your NEC has the full barrage of testing features available to you using Nero...sorry, i have a NEC 3520a on my 2nd computer but i never ran any Nero tests using that drive...i use my Liteon's for scanning and disc tests personally~ :)
perhaps someone with more NEC experience can shed some light on your Nero quality scan testing abilities...
