when i start to burn a dvd, under burn settings, do i check or uncheck book type DVD ROM?

If you are using DVD+R media i would check it. It will not booktype DVD-R media.

DVD-ROM will make the backup more playable in stand alone players. I only use DVD+R media and booktype all my backups to DVD-ROM
