I originally posted this a week and a half ago, but, even after following the advice of senior members, my problem persists. MaxBurn was helping me, but he seems to have disappeared as of last week. The original thread is located at http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/283337.

I'm using Nero 6.6.0.18, w/a Toshiba SD-R6012 v1334 DVD-RW drive, and Ridata 4.7GB 4X DVD-R media. When using both Nero and Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 the burn claims to be successful, but when I try to read the DVD, the computer reacts like there is no disc in the drive, and when I do a "disc properties" in Nero it says the disc is blank. No error messages, just a coaster. I've tried seven times, w/two different media (Ritek and Verbatim) w/the same results. I can burn CD-Rs w/no problem.

Following the advice of MaxBurn and others, I updated my DVD-RW firmware and Nero to the latest versions, but the burn results remained identical. I then updated my corrupt system APSIw/Adaptec aspi_471a2 installation for XP32, but Nero Info Tool still says my System ASPI is corrupt and my problem persists.

Please read the original thread and let me know if anyone has any suggestions. Thank you all VERY much. I am grateful for any help.

Give this aspi a go.

http://www.mtc-comp.com/forceaspi18.zip

I run it because I run some apps in win 2000 compatability.

To use it unzip the files. Then
First run killaspi.bat (to remove whats there now)
Reboot computer
Then run instaspi.bat (to install this one for win2000 in xp)

Your aspi problem may not be what is causing your burning problems but could be.

I ran frcASPI17, rebooted, and Nero's Info Tool said my ASPI was installed and working properly. I tried another burn and Nero said it completed successfully, but again, when I tried to read the disk, it was like nothing was in the drive. Below is my Nero log. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Refer to the original thread link above for further details. Thanks.

Johnytuon: Yes, I'm trying to burn a data dvd.

gwendolin: My firmware IS the latest: v1334. I upgraded Nero last month to the latest, but it didn't help w/my problem. I'm pretty sure a Nero upgrade has nothing to do w/it b/c burning w/the latest version of Adobe Premiere Pro exhibits the same result.

Thanks to both of you.
