movies come with a protection keep you from copying them, anydvd breaks that protection. without anydvd, you'd not be able to copy the movie. even though you don't see it, anydvd works its work in the background.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

Yep it just runs in the background. It's a driver that makes the dvd appear protection free. As long as you see the red fox it's running.

Anydvd suppresses the copy protection so that copying/shrinking progs can rip the disc. In two yrs I've only had to use it three times. DvdDecrypter has taken care of 99% of the stuff I've thrown at it, including discs people have posted messages about having trouble with.

agree, it has only been a hand full of movies decrypter can't handle on its own, i like to work from the HD, not from the dics and decrypter has been just great. i hardly ever use Fabdecrypter.

When you start AnyDVD there will be a red fox head in the task tray. If you see the fox head, it is running. Insert your DVD and wait til the fox head goes pale and then returns to dark red. When this is done the encryptions have been removed. Start your ripper and proceed with the backup.

Cheers.

I spotted it also. but i just figured he was wigging out lol.. Listen people who are having trouble. BUY! AnyDVD, download DVDShrink, And if you have any cents ;) at all you shouldn't have any trouble.. I alos like DVDFAB Decrypter. i have had backed up movies that i couldn't get to copy again and ran them through DVDFAB and then i could copy them. Kinda like repairs and errors in the DVD files on the Disk..

I'm an avid used of AnyDVD and think it is well worth the money. Just sits there unobtrusively in the background giving the people at Sony, and others, fits on how to keep us from backing up our DVDs. That said I could understand why some people may not be in my financial situation and have the extra Dollars, Yen or Euros to allow them to buy a program. That's why there are any number of FREE programs out there and the wonderful people here at AD willing to help wind your way through the process. However I just have a sneaking suspicion reading through a lot of the threads that some people are not really interested in backing up their movies but ripping and burning rentals or borrowed copies of movies in order to avoid paying for them. Hopefully some day the distributors of DVD movies will learn that by pricing their product more realistically they could avoid the need for all this encryption garbage.

To err is human, to really screw up.....use a computer.
