I just ripped my second DVD and it has subtitles like the first one does. I'm able to take them off by going to the menu and doing all that other stuff. But I want to know how to not have them (subtitles) directly come up a soon as you put the movie in.

Might be somewhat helpful if you named the program you are using to backup your movies.

Try going to the setup for your DVD Player and change the default setting for Subtitles to "OFF"

Never heard of Shrinkit. Did you check your DVD player's default subtitle settings?

I'm ripping it with a DVD drive the nec 4551a and I don't think there is no subtitle for drives

The answer is here. Just remember some subtitles are forced, like the Japanese in The Last Samurai.
