Do I have to have XISO?

I also don't know where to get the original Xbox Dash.

Also can't you make a bit torrent file and email me the ISO that way? Or you can also get file hosting from a site.

It works out at 190+meg zipped up solid..I haven't got the upload speed, that would take me about 8 days!! plus probably get me fired..I never seen a 190M email?

There is a ms dash on the slayers disk...but...try the links I posted before..I found one so they do exist for download.

Its alright dude.
I am still confused. So where exactly do I put the M$ dashboard files in? Just the Disc Restoration folder? and with what name?
sorry for so many questions it is just I have one disc left that i can burn on and i am completely broke.

Right...maybe better to find xboxhdm (xboxscene and look in the forums)

Then I had a really good hunt for a ms dash and came back to here

You really need to do a total rebuild on the drive so we need to find a way to get the eeprom off it...check out the news at

www.llama.com and see if your drive is one that can be unlocked with ATApwd...

then get the drive unlocked...but if you wiped your eeprom save we have a problem!! them we will have to try something mad like unformat to attempt to recover it..

hey so im hoping someone can help me, ummm i installed the linux dashboard and i was expecting it to appear in place of the Xbox Live option but it didnt and i had to coldboot anygame. well i wanted to get it back to normal and didnt know to use the restore M$ option so i went to game saves and actually deleted the new dashboard so now im stuck with absolutely no dashboard. i tried the xblox live crap with some of the games i have but it didnt work i always got trouble shooter and it couldnt connect to my dash. umm i think that my original dashboard might not be deleted and its hidden somewhere on my box(but im probably wrong) please help i feel like a total noob and i kicking the shizzle out of my self for screwing up my box

I know its a stretch but you may want to contact a total professional about this one. I suggest trying to get a hold of THESPECIALIST over at xboxhacker. He could probably give you the support you need.

what you do is to restart the game that you used when you get to the screen where is says to create mod backup and so on. Under all that there are the choices that say to restore ms and another one but i forgot what it was but what you want to do is to click on both of the and let it restore everything. Once it is done you should turn the Xbox off then back on and everything should be back to normal.

can someone help me? please. i have a modded xbox my dash got erased somehow.i got the dash back by putting a live game in it and it instaled the dash back on it. my problem is the parental controll is missing. when i go into the settings of the msdash put my pass then parental control it goes to a green tunnal i guess that part of settings got erased now the only games i could play is early childhood ones. is there a way to delet that part of settings or can i get just that file somewere? when i load any game from hhd it just resets the xbox.please help me.

@cjcinci. You have to re-run your softmod then delete the ms dash then either put in an xbox live game or download it from xbins or other sites. Also you MUST turn off your parental control.

ok thanks papabass but how do i turn of the parental controll and re install soft mod sorry im new to this i bought the xbox cheap and have realy no clue how to install or uninstall anything. when i get into parenal controll i get a green tunnal. is there somewere else the parental controll is besides the ms dash?

Your disk looks right, the new dash files go in the folder C:

For the hotswap go into your pc bios settings and set the hdd detection to auto....xbox hdm does it differently anyway, it doesn't matter if the pc reports the wrong size for the drive, as long as it finds something..

First thing to do is get the eeprom.bin file off the drive, copy it somewhere safe..you will ned it to lock the drive again, or just hotswap back...read all the data that comes with xboxhdm carefully, especially the warnings about playing about with the drive locking tools...better still if you can..print all the readme's and tutorials..it's only about 7 pages...

Its alright Jan. I got so frustrated with it after spending a few days trying to get the PC to find the HD. That I sent it in for repair. It should have been back right now so I am wondering what is going on. But I will keep that in mind next time I buy a broken xbox or my xbox breaks.
