What's up guys and gals I got a pack of 75 Maxell DVDs from Sams (Walmart) the code reads CMC MAG. AE1 WHAT THE you know what is this code???

dang...seems like a LOT of media purchased from Sams has been CMC MAG related lately...first it was Verbs with the CMC MAG coding, now it's Maxells?

CMC MAG = CMC Magnetics Corp...NOT A GOOD manufacturer of dvd media i'm afraid...

when is the madness gonna stop? ouch...

actually, i have never even seen a "75-pack" spindle of dvds...usually, they come in either SINGLE piece w/ jewel case, 5-pack, 10 pack (Verb DVD+R DL), 25 pack, 50 pack, or 100 pack...

but, hey, there are always going to be denominations (spindle size) that i just don't have available locally for me...

unfortunately, you did not get the "good" Maxells in your most recent purchase... :(

i think for the MOST part, these have been very rare and isolated cases of people getting CMC MAGs under both the Verbatim label as well as now, Maxell~ :)

i think the MAJORITY of people that do frequent Sams to buy media usually have better "luck" in getting the MCC coded Verbs or the Ritek coded Maxells (or even the Hitachi made Maxells MIJ) :)

i do feel sorry for the FEW that have gotten CMC MAGs buying from Sams under these 2 company labels..not much i can say about that...but i don't think it's a big problem, unless MORE people keep reporting these findings... :)

Don't feel sorry guys. Sam's took mine back no queations asked. The 75 pack were Maxell DVD-R 8x INJET PRINTABLES coded cmc ae1. Only Maxell's I have ever come across with cmc coding. I buy my Maxell's at Wal- Mart and they own Sam's!! Right now the 8x -r's at Wal Mart are coded ritek g05.

Thanks guys I never had this problem before I will just give them to my son and daughter. I already ordered some TY from Meritline they always have the good stuff.

Use them for target practice before you go hunting...

Or put them in the microware for 5 minutes... humm wonder what that will do ? Get a nice fireworks show ?
