I have a bunch of video clips that im going to put on a dvd for when i have parties and stuff. there are 54 files right now, but they are obviously over 4.7 gb. My question is about possible compression on dvd shrink and quality. when you use the compression method do you just save a few mb, or 100's of mb.

What would be the best setting to maintain quality playback. Thanks.

oh ya also, i am using vso DivX to dvd to turn all of them into dvd format. each one is about 130mb +/-. with 54 songs that about 6.5 gb.
is it even possible to put them on one disc, or should i just do two (if quality will suck on one)?

We are talking 3-4 gigs of compression.

That should be no problem, a typical job for DVD Shrink is around 7.5 gigs.

The quality cannot be better than the source, and of course you will lose some quality during the compression, but the loss shouldn't be too noticable if the compression rate is kept above 70%.

so if i do a compression of like 75% it shouldnt be noticeable? How much space would be saved, would it be 25% off of whatever my total gb is?

OOps sorry didnt see the reply to the quotes.

What about doing multiple files? is there a better chance that the sound and video will get out of sync, or the same chance as if i were to do it individually.

I guess what i want to know as well is if i put like 10 files on at once, will it convert those files seperately in the same folder, or will it just make it one big clip?

I've not tried this method, but I believe if you import into DVD Shrink using the DVD browser tab, each video or group of videos will be it's own chapter.

Here is guide for episodic backups: http://www.dvdshrink.info/re-author-v3beta5-advanced.php
