I don't do any real hacking with the PSP. I basically use to play games and watch movies(by using decryptor and PSPvideo9).

WIll updating to version 2.6 mess up my ability to watch movies? Anything else I should be made aware of with version 2.6? any other downfalls?

Thanks

Well if you have a 2.00 PSP I suggest that you do not upgrade since you will no longer be able to play homebrew. If you have the 2.5 psp feel free since there is no current downgrader for it. Keep in mind that upgrading has steps such as when the number after the decimal changes slightly it means that some sort of security update has been included, and maybe some other small features. when the number jumps by a large number then a security update has been installed and also some features have been included. when the number before the decimal changes then a whole lot has been added.

Whatever you do don't upgrade to 3.0 when it gets released. Because 2.1, 2.5, 2.6 are hard enough as it is to crack. So if you upgrade to 3.0 you can forget about homebrew for a damn long time if not never
