What up bro's I recently bought a psp 2.0 runnning 2.5 software and I want to be able to save gammes and movies like everyone elseinstead of carring around 45 disks. I'd rather buy the 4mb HD and 2g M cards and run off thAT. I heard of programs that downgrade your PSP so you can run ISO files but In all honesty I don't know what that means and then I saw homebrews which I'm not sure what thjey do either.....

In a perfect world this is what i'D like to be able to do.

Load a prgram on my PCU and access my PSP using the USB with this program. The program would allow me to access the UMD not only the Memory disk as it's set up now. I can save those disks onto my CPU and move them to my PSP when I want to. Is that so hard....I don't want to reprogram my PSP I want a program for my CPU to access my PSP.

right you want to first check out my FAQS guide

1. i have heard of Ftp(ing) with your psp but never really looked into it as fastloader does the same trick - and im not sure if it allowed you to access your UMD

you said you had 2.0 then said you were running 2.5 - if thats so i can work out you bought a 2.0 and upgraded. the bad news for you is that you cant play isos (so no games from the memory card) on anything above 1.5

if you had a 2.0 you could downgrade - but you havn't

the good news is that homebrew is coming along on 2.01+ (its slow and not very good, but its only just started)

i wouldnt bother with the 4gb hard drive because
a. it slower at reading/writing than your standard memory card and
b. it messes with the aurgonomics (i dunno how to spell it) of the psp
in simple terms it wieghs more and is slightly bigger so it just doesnt "feel" right

good news again is that sony are fetching out a 4gb and 8gb memory stick soon

I didn't upgrade anything...so...??

I just exited out of my game and the gret=y screen came up I scroll till PSP(Tm) Update version 2.0 is highlighted it states

but if I hit x and get more info it states
the system software on your psp is version 2.5 there is no new upgrade. I bought it this way.....I never upgraded, so I don't understand.

Quick question: I have version 1.52, so theorically I can update it to 2.0 and then downgrade it to 1.5, right?

PLEASE SOMEONE CREATE A CPU BASED PROGRAM THAT WILL ACCESS THE PSP THROUGH THE USB PORT AND BE ABLE TO READ THE UMD AND NOT SCREW WITH YOUR PSP.
