I have used CloneDVD2 a few times now and it is a pretty good program, but I do not see a way to clear the history. It saves every DVD I have ever imported and the Video Labels of the DVDs that I have compressed.

I tried looking for a file that it stores the info in, but I have had no luck. Does anyone know how to clear all this info??

Thanks

JaguarGod i would uninstall the program first .do a disc cleanup and defrag go into your c drive and make sure its clean then reinstall the program. on the third page when your encoding a dvd theres a box that says "Delete temporary video files after writing" make sure that box is checked that should take care of it. i will try a screenshot

its there on the bottom

Thanks for the help, but that is not what I meant.

On your screenshot, it shows "Dog Soldiers" on the volume label. That is the type of stuff I want to get rid of. Also the browse history when you import a DVD. I hate to look at recently viewed files on programs and I would love to get rid of that.

I know it is being stored somewhere on the PC, but I can't figure that out.

BTW, nice background!!!

OK, I just figured it out. It saves it to your registry in:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER=>Software=>Elaborate Bytes=>CloneDVD2

They are:

InputFilesPathHistory
InputImageFileHistory
OutputFilesPathHistory
OutputImageFileHistory
VideoFilesPath
VolumeLabelHistory

You have to double click on them one at a time and delete the info and press OK. After you do that, it deletes all the history and resets the volume label to "DVD_VIDEO".

Jaguar, of those 5 which you selected and clicked on twice and then erased, was it because the movie titles were in the third section?? I ask because I did what you did but it was only 2 or 3 of those which you stated. Hope that makes sense. If it doesn't I'll try to rephrase. Anyway, thanks for the tip on how clear them. They were bothering me as well. :)

@karl48,

The VIDEO_TS folder is nothing more than a normal Windows folder. After you burn the DVD, click on the folder. Then press and hold the "shift" key on your keyboard and then press the "delete" key on your key board. It will ask for a confirmation. This will delete the entire folder and all of the contents without going to the recycle bin. After it deletes, you will not be able to recover it, unless if you have software meant to recover lost data.

@chilwill,

Click on the "start" button in the lower left corner of your PC screen. This will expand the program menu. Then look for the "run..." option. Select this and it will open a small dialog box.

Type in "regedit" (leave out the quotes) and then press enter. This will take you into your windows registry.

This is the address I gave for the CloneDVD data:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER=>Software=>Elaborate Bytes=>CloneDVD2

I will now explain it.

When you open the registry editor, on the left, you will see "My Computer" which is expandable. If expanded you will also see the following under "My computer":

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
HKEY_USERS
HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG

Expand "HKEY_CURRENT_USER". You will now see the following sub-categories:

AppEvents
Console
Control Panel
Environment
Identities
Keyboard Layout
Printers
Software
Test-Dummy
UNICODE Program Groups
Volatile Environment

Expand "Software"

Now you should see a long list of all the software that is used under your sign in name. You want to scroll down until you see "Elaborate Bytes". Expand this.

You will now see the two following subcategory:

CloneDVD2

Click on "CloneDVD2".

Now look to the right of the window. You will see lots of items with symbols and characters. You are to look for the following one by one:

InputFilesPathHistory
InputImageFileHistory
OutputFilesPathHistory
OutputImageFileHistory
VideoFilesPath
VolumeLabelHistory

Each will have the white symbol with "ab" in it. Double click on the "InputFilesPathHistory" and it will open a small dialog box with the value data highlighted (text of the file lists in this case). Press the "Delete" key on your keyboard. This will clear the text. Now press "enter" or click OK.

Now repeat the above for the remainder of the strings. When you are finished, close the registry editor and that's all. Your file history will now be cleared.

You should be careful what you edit in your registry. Make sure you only edit what I listed so that you do not delete anything important.
