Has anyone had this problem with USS Poseidon Phantom Below.
Nothing can read the disc, ( says disc is blank ) I have tried the following; DVD Shrink, AnyDVD, DVDcreptor, NERO and Windows Explorer. I have tried these with 4 different DVD drives. But it plays when used in a stand alone DVD player not hooked up to a PC. The movie is published by Sony. Yes I returned the movie and recievied a new one.

All five methods you mentioned show the disc as blank?

AnyDVD is updated to current version?

Yes none of them worked. I just update AnyDVD to 5.8.3.1 and tried to read again. No luck....

OK since you said you've tried DVD Shrink, AnyDVD, DVD Decrypter, Nero and Windows and nothing can read the disc. Now you have a few other options, but before that, let me asked you a simple question here. At what MODE did your ripped the movie with DVD Decrypter? Is it Mode, ISO, Read or Mode, File F?

Now let's try to rip the movie again with DVD Decrypter via Mode, File F to your hard drive, but before when can do that, let's take a few seconds and set a few settings inside DVD Decrytper first:

<> open up DVD Decrypter, go to Tools, and Settings

<> at General on ?Removal Method? arrow down to ?Aggressive?

<> at I/O, check ?Ignore Read Errors?

<> at ?File Mode? check on all of the Remove, Ignore, Patch and Create MDS file.

<> at CSS check ?Brute Force -->I/O key exchange,
On Failure: use key from another file [YES]

<> at ?ISO Read Mode? check on all Remove and Create MDS file

<> once you?re done with the settings, click OK to get out from the settings.

<><><> Here's what you need to do <><><>
get VobBlanker here http://members.aol.com/posunplugged/jsoto/VobBlanker_2100_exe.zip if you haven't done so.
get DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.6.8 here http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm if you haven't done so.

<><> A <><>
<> rip the movie with DVD Decrypter via Mode, File F to your hard drive to see if you have any success, if it's a success, then continue on (if it fails, then abort this process).
<> run it through VobBlanker 2.1.0.0, set your "input = your source of VIDEO_TS file you ripped from DVD Decrytper", and "output = your new destination folder", then click PROCESS, and wait until it's done.
<> import/load into DVD Shrink or Nero Recode 2 and perform your usual shrinking process.

<><> B <><>
<> rip the movie with DVD Decrypter via Mode, ISO, Read your hard drive to see if you have any success, then continue on (if it fails, then abort this process).
<> open up DVD Shrink, click on File, Open Disc Image and continue with your usual shrinking process.

<><> C <><>
<> rip the movie with DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.6.8 to hard drive, get it free here http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm
<> open up VobBlanker 2.1.0.0 and click on PROCESS once you've set your "input = source of VIDEO_TS file you ripped from DVDFAB Decrypter" and "output = your new destination folder of VIDEO_TS folder".
<> <> import/load into DVD Shrink or Nero Recode 2 and perform your usual shrinking process.

<><>if all of the above fail, then try to have ISO Buster or Apache 3 to "extract" the ISO from the movie<><>

<> get ISO Buster and Apache 3 here:
get APACHE 3 http://s37.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0WXKDO4UNLK471VFG4MJGJ1VT5
get ISO Buster here http://www.smart-projects.net/isobuster/

<> open up ISO Buster or Apache 2 or Apache 3
<> click File, Open Image Files
<> browse to select your file (where the original dvd is located, your burner or dvd-rom drive)
<> click OPEN or OK
<> click on the movie's ISO, then Right click on the VIDEO_TS folder and Extract them files into a folde in your hard drive

If all of the above method fail, then it is likely that you have a badly pressed original. To be honest, I've never ran into any movie(disc) that any of the programs I used won't recognize (ie blank disc).

Good luck!!
