I burned the disc properly and it said the operation was successful but the dvds wont play on my computer or my home dvd player. On the home dvd player, the screen shows like I never even put a disc in. This happened twice with 2 different dvds. Any ideas?

Just because an application reports successful completion, doesn't make it so.

Assuming the video files were "successfully" ripped to the hard drive:

Did you use shrink for the ripping/transcoding process?

How did you initiate the burn process(automatically with shrink or manually)?

What application did you use to burn with?

To add to johnl23 - Shrink itself can't burn but will autoburn w/ Nero or Decrypter if you have them installed - there's one other but I can't remember the name. If your burning w/ Nero you could post your last log to see if anything is amiss.
What's the media your using? Burn speed?

I used DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink and it just automatically did the burning. I have successfully used this method in the past and it worked. How would I get the log to post it here? I just don't think I know enough about it to answer some of the questions here. Thanks for replying.

I'll assume you main HDD is the c: drive
You didn't state wheather you have nero6 or 7

You can find the log here:
goto c:\program files\nero\nero6 or 7\core

once in the core folder look for a text file named: Nero history log.txt

just copy past the text.

Is the media you are using now different than the media you used in the past? For ex. your other media was -R and now your using +R. If +R then you'd have to booktype it to DVD-Rom. Also if it were diff. is it the same manufacturer?
