hi guys
this is an eror massage i get when i try to backup a 8.5GB disk:
"dvd shrink encountered an eror and cannot continue
out of memory,the paging file is too small for this operation to complete".
i set the paging file size (on the xp os)on :system managed size
and i still get the same eror.
does someone knows a possible solution?

how much memory does your PC have?
you may need more.
defrag the system... free up some extra space

i have only 256kb of ram, do you think this might be the problem?
because the eror massage sais that " the paging file is too small "
i have 6.5GB of free space on my hard drive, and the film i'm trying to backup is 8.5GB. do i need more free space?

You need more free space on your hard drive - 10 to 12 GB recommended.

I have now 16GB of free space on my hdd and i defrag twice that partition and still recieve the same error.where did i go wrong???

i got this message once afetr i had run res evil 2 through dvdfab decrypter and then tried to shrink it with dvdshirk...i got round it by runnning it through dvddecrypter instead..seemed to work after, also had the exact same prob with bad santa


but my system was infected with a trojan downloader called zlob at the time ;)

I finally succeeded to backup the film, i used the "custom ratio" to decrease the video compression.thanks to all of you.
