I don't have any scratches in my dvd's or cd's. I have a special protection I use. It's called not scratching them.

i;d be surprised if this actually got off the ground properly as disc manufacturers would prefer you to buy there product rather than have something that is scratch resistant

Indeed true andmerr. Something about 'keeping the economy going'. Perhaps this researcher will find himself in a back alley one day with Yuden and Verb cronies giving him what for so that his scratchless media won't hit the market. :)
I can see it now: "must...*whack* allow media to be scratched *whack* so that kiddies scrartching media *whack* will buy more"
