You probably didn't burn an ISO image to the disk. My early work wasn't burn't this way and I can't make a copy from the disks. Make sure to DVD Decrypter is set to ISO Write. In the Menu, click on Mode-ISO-Write (has a check next to it) before burning.

Use copy software for copying previously backed up DVDs.

Start DVD Decrypter. Put the burn't copy disk in the tray. If DVDD doesn't read the disk, or anyother software...you didn't make an ISO disk.

That's not right. ISO is only a package. The disc being read could have been burned as an ISO or files, it doesn't matter, Decrypter will read it. Decrypter will only write ISO though. If you open a DVD Video in Windows instead of playing it, you will see Audio_TS and Video_TS folders. It doesn't matter if you burned the DVD in File mode or ISO, you get the same, and DVD Decrypter reads the same.

Sorry,

My early attemps, a year and a half ago, I couldn't make copies from copies.
I was using CloneDVD2. All the disked played on my home units. However, If I wanted to copy, no way! If I wanted my PC to play it, I would have to open Power DVD and Menu/Open/Drive. No AutoRun. You know, newbie...? Still learning.
Since then, you all have been fantastic. By the way..I was Stealthy this weekend. Used this.

People are saying they've used Decrypter with Menace to Society when AnyDVD wouldn't work. I find that a bit hard to believe, but since I haven't done that particular movie, I won't rule anything out. However, AnyDVD was updated to handle the ARccOS encryption as soon as it came from the studios. AnyDVD has consistently been updated faster than any other decryption app available as new encryption is developed. I've done many of the new releases including the ones from Columbia and Sony that have the more difficult encryption systems. Where Decrypter has to have PSL2 files to decrypt some newer releases, all the AnyDVD owner has to do is make sure he keeps the app updated. Besides, Menace is showing no outstanding encryption. I may get it just to see what's there, but it won't be in time to comment here. I'll just say I find it a bit hard to believe. I've only heard of a few instances of this happening. If it was a pervasive problem with the release, I would have expected to hear much more about it.

Transcoders sometimes have problems with copies. Simple copy apps are the way to go. Backups have already been decrypted and if DVD5, already sized. So no need for the transcoder which may note the structural change. Just a matter of using the right software for a particular job. My curiosity is aroused, I'll have to take a look at this one.

Brobear,I understand there is no need to use Shrink to make a copy of a copy I use Nero for that. What im saying is just for kicks I opened this copy with shrink and it will open the disc with the same crazy results as the original. It will only open in re-author mode and then the only options you have to choose from are title menues and vts1 you get no main movie option to choose.

Well, problems with copies in transcoders is nothing new. They're not made for copying backups. As I mentioned there is a structural change that can cause problems. As for the original you're talking about, I hope it's a good movie. I'll have to take a look at it. I'll pick it up today if it's available locally.
