Used AnyDVD in background and ripped files to HD with Decrypter. Then went to Shrink and got error. Used VobBlanker (Thanks Alkohol for guidence) and then Shrink had no problem. As a test ripped with Decrypter alone without AnyDVD and ripped to HD fine. Still had problem with Shrink and ran that file through VobBlanker as well and no problem then using shrink. Burned each as a test from iso files with Nero Express without problems. Played well without glitches, pixelation or attack from gremlins!
Go to Guides for how to use VobBlanker or look for one of many Alkohol posts regarding it. For the beginner (like me) don't try anything fancy just the basics and it will work. Still like my AnyDVD but per Alkohol VobBlanker plus free programs will do the trick. Looks like he's right on the money so far.

@rn73

You're welcome, glad I could help, now enjoy VobBlanker 2.1.0.0 to the fullest. I remembered you were looking for PgcEdit + PSL2 plugin and FixVTS right? Well, I've replied back in my "shoutbox", so whenever you needed. That is another great FREE tool to bypass ARccOS or RipGuard besides VobBlanker, but I still think VobBlanker is stronger, perhaps more advanced.

Yes, like I've said many times before, even sometimes DVDFAB Decrypter, DVD Decrypter, DVD43 and AnyDVD (don't get me wrong here, I'm not dissin' AnyDVD, I know it's a great cracking engine, but I've seen some members still having issues even if they're using AnyDVD) can get it (newer movies) through the ripping process, but once encoding/transcoding with DVD Shrink or Nero Recode 2, you will encounter issues because some of those craps, bad/fake cells is not completely removed.

Again, here's my method for those that needed: 100% success regardless if it's RipGuard or ARccOS, no AnyDVD, no DVD43 required, no hustle. All tools are FREE, except for Nero.

<><><> Alkohol's VobBlanker method <><><>
<> rip the movie with DVD Decrypter via Mode, File F to hard drive
<> or rip the movie with DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.6.8 to hard drive
<> VobBlanker version 2.1.0.0 to process and filter out fake/bad cells
<> encode/transcode with Nero Recode 2 or DVD Shrink
<> burn with Nero Burning Rom or Nero Express

That's it... easy as sippin' on a Corona. No sweat, no worry, no glitches, no black screen, no misery, no hustle, no AnyDVD, no DVD43, 100% success.

Honestly, the reason why I prefer VobBlanker 2.1.0.0 is because it's FREE, it can easily "process" and "filter" out any craps (ie fake or bad cells, pgcs, sectors or encrypted cells, etc.), in addition it only take like 5 - 10 minutes of processing times only. Here is a safe download zip file of VobBlanker 2.1.0.0 http://members.aol.com/posunplugged/jsoto/VobBlanker_2100_exe.zip if you haven't done so. By the way, it's only a small 900KB (not even 1MB).

Again, once VobBlanker 2.1.0.0 is done processing, you can absolutely feel 100% sure that the movie is totally free of craps (protections, bad/fake cells or pgcs ie black screen, glitches as found in "Wedding Crashers", "Dark Water" and "The CAVE").

The reason I said that is because sometimes (even if) DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.6.8 or DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 had successfully ripped the movie files into the hard drive, but for some of the newer/latest movies, you will still have some troubles, errors, black screen or glitches after burning the movie. Sometimes, even if you have AnyDVD or DVD43 running in the background, it still gives both DVD Shrink and Nero Recode 2 "errors" while encoding/transcoding and you'll have to abort the transcoding process, sometimes it's too big (not compressable)<=== this is Sony's new ARccOS, sometimes it's "out of memory" or "low on virtual memory" <=== this is MacroVision's RipGuard.

Therefore, in order to successfully and completely get rid of those encrypted craps (bad/fake cells, pgcs, sectors, etc.), you'll need to run through VobBlanker 2.1.0.0, VobBlanker will process and filter out those craps, and create a fresh/new/clean VIDEO_TS file. Then you can encode/transcode the newly created VIDEO_TS file with DVD Shrink or Nero Recode 2 and burn with any of your desire burning engines.

Best of lucks and happy burning!!

Whatever works and different strokes for different folks! Still playing with VobBlanker to figure out bells an whistles. For now just doing the simple in and out process files bit. Haven't figured out blanking certain functions such as FBI etc. Do you just blank out VOBs or just the PGC's? Just what the H--- are PGC's anyway. For example in Dark Water VTS_01_*.VOB has 3 PGC's. #1 is the movie while #2&3 appear to be blanks. I haven't gotten around to experimenting but I guess would blank out those "black" PGC's? Hey just learning as I go.
Thanks for the reply. Can see some other threads where people are having trouble with Dark Water. At least you are gracious in replying to some of us unlike some Old Dude who thinks he knows everything if you catch my drift. Got flammed for my opinion.
Again best to you and thanks.

Yes, if VTS_01_*.VOB has 3 PGCs and #1 has a running time of something like 1:50:38 or similar and PGC 2 and 3 barely has anything, then it is safe to blank out. I usually blank out the very first "VIDEO_TS.VOB" by double clicking on it, and I'll preview/play them cells, and if it's "nothing related" to the main movie, then I'll just highlight and hold Shift and arrow down, then blank all of them.

I'm sure you'll learn how to use and enjoy the capabilities of VobBlanker as times goes by.

Good luck and happy burning!!

Hey alkohol :)
I messed with the newest version of VOB Blanker, and i have a quick question. I found the file containing the FBI warning in a movie, and it was on the top menu, the bottom one that has the blank option did not list it. The top part only had skip, not blank. How do you get rid of those warnings? I thought if i hit skip, blanker would not process that file, keeping it in the movie. Some files on the top menu when highlighted list another set of files on the lower menu, and there i can blank them, but haven't figured it out for that warning screen. Its probably something real easy...

@MaxBurn buddy

I forgot to tell you that, those small FBI warning junks does NOT have any PGCs or TTN, therefore you can not preview/play and blank on the bottom screen. But you can just "double click" on it, and now you can "blank them" as much as you wished.

Yes, usually those 2 FBI warning craps (English, French or similar) is on the very first "VIDEO_TS.VOB" or it is on the top menu like you said. You just need to "double click" on it, and VobBlanker will take you to a new tab screen (ie 1 -->> 15 or 20 Cells), now click on the cell that has a running time of 15 seconds --> 1 minute and it's usually some FBI Warning craps. I usually just "blank them all". Click Apply/OK and you'll be fine.

Let me know how it goes alright buddy.

Thanks Alkohol, it worked. I actually had gotten to that double click part, but never went beyond that. The new version of blanker has a preview screen in the double clicked screen also. Here is a shot of it.

Paint didn't capture the correct part, but there was a warning screen there in the preview window.
Oh, and since i am using AnyDVD, i didn't use decrypter at all. Just gave blanker the DVD video in the drive as the input folder, and selected the HD as the target, with output folder having a new name. Blanked files completly missing the waring as it is supposed to. Yeay!! Encode and burn time from HD blanked files was 8 minutes with CloneDVD2. Haven't watched the movie yet, other than checking to see if it played and was missing the warning screen,, all gone :) I am starting to use and like VOB blanker even more. CloneDVD2 can do much the same thing and keep the menu except it wont handle Arccos and blanker will. You just go down to each video file listed and uncheck the ones you don't want to keep. Many times there is some warning screen clip in there that you can uncheck. I know CloneDVD2 is a paid for program, but many ppl have it, and it is pretty good. I have been able to tweek the settings in it and still keep the menus, and get better compression (less) than if i tried to uncheck audio and language settings in DVD Shrink and knocked down the compression on the extras and menus. Yes, movie only mode will work just as well, many times getting the main movie with no compression, but in many cases the menus are good, and sometimes include small screen movies of each chapter. I try to get the least amount of compression on the main movie, and compress or delete the extra stuff. Works for me. I like both programs, and even use Nero Recode2 once in a while.
Now i gotta go do something important,, watch Hatchet Man... without that stupid warning screen.
