I can't find out whats gone wrong. I have been backing up some videos with no problem using DVDFAb Express with DVD decripter and then finish with DVD shrink 3.2. When I get to DVD shrink and hit the re-author button I then click on the C drive, that would make the name of the movie come up, then after clicking the name of the movie, DVD then Title Menus, but the hole title menu is only 1.52 minutes and 33mb, if I click on title menu the word English comes up, when I click on that I get Menus 1 thur 8 and all 8 menus are less than 2 minutes. I hope someone can help, I think I'm loosing my mind.

Sounds like ARccOS at work. It's Sony's new copyright protection, but Alkohol came up with a way to back those kinds of movies up. I know The Cave has been blowing up on the forums, but I haven't heard anything about Red Eye though. There is another method too, if this one doesn't work.

Post back some results.

Just to add my 2 cent with this one:

RED EYE:

There is nothing special about this flick, all I used is DVDshrink. I just had shrink rip/transcode the main movie only (title one) in re-author mode, then had it autoburn burn the files to disk using nero at 4x speed.

The CAVE: this one took a little more work.

Used latest version of DVDFab decrypter to rip the files to the HDD, then processed those video files thru VobBlanker (had to do this because DVDFab did not completely remove the dummy cells which produce/cause a problem with shrink when opening the files). Once VobBlanker was done, I then opened those files with shrink and had it autoburn burn the files to disk using nero at 4x speed.

get VobBlanker here.. http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm

For input file, choose to the VIDEO_TS.IFO file produced by DVDFab
For output location, choose a folder you created
Press process
Rename the folder VIDEO_TS which contains the processed files from vobblanker
Open the files with shrink and re-author to get main movie

Simple solution is AnyDVD. You can use VobBlanker but I'd rather just spend a little cash and let AnyDVD do all the work.

How can you learn, when somthing else is doing the work for you?
I guess I'd rather struggle a little bit to find the solution, and in the process of doing so I've learned alot or at least a little bit more.

Just my opinion.

That's a good way to look at it. I've already done the learning part and prefer the simple approach.

Red Eye produced no problems for me. At the time, I was using AnyDVD 5.6.3.1 and had no issues. So if you have a previous AnyDVD version, you gotta update. From start to finish: AnyDVD running, Shrink to compress/rip and Decryptor to burn. I always retain all the special features (i'm a sucker for 'em), and still have had no problems with it.

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

Look up the word forum. Isn't this whole site about the exchange of information?
Or how about this one John, "if you don't have anything to say, don't say anything at all.

john didn't do or say anything wrong. He is only trying to help and his method is really the better way of doing things if you are interested in learning. All the help and info he provided will do the job. I see no reason for laying in on him.

@Mort81,
Thankyou, I guess some people just don't get it. I too have already done the learning part, but I still prefer the challenge.

@Vinnbadd,
With that attitude, I'm sure you'll always be wondering why???
As I'm sure you've heard the saying "stupid is as stupid does"....

John, I don't see why you felt the need to get on my case. You have know idea who I am or what I do. I have learned alot on this site and this is only the second time I've ever asked for advice. I have been reading and learning for about a year and only just joined about two months ago to ask a question.
As far as "stupid is as stupid dose" Hmmm, seems to me that stupid may be to push your opinion about an unasked question.

Again, thanks for all the sugestions people. This is what a forum is all about.

Who's jumping on who's case....I would think about that question again.

As far as me pushing my opinion on anyone, I don't do that! I simply express it at times (it's harmless). Your question was answered with a response that can and will produced the result you were looking for, it's up to you to take and implement the advice given, no one is forcing you.

Best of luck.
