ive just got a psp but just the basic 32mb stick and want to upgrade to a 1 or 2 gb .but noticed there are several differant types and brands and want to know is there any differances between and if so which is the best

They're all basically the same. Check around for bad reviews if you're considering a purchase.

I have a 1GB Sandisk and my friend has the 1GB Sony Highspeed memory stick. We play our PSPs together all the time and have even switched out cards and have noticed no speed or performance difference. If you wanna go big, I would save up for a 2GB card, which I think only sony has that size right now. My buddy got 2GB Sony Memory stick from ebay for 140 bucks. Not a bad deal when Sony sells it from their website for 450 bucks!
