I have recently downloading program Clone dvd (no version number to it, assuming first version) I have performed 2 copies of dvd's i purchased and being a newb just messed around with the quality. What are the pro's and con's of running Clone dvd

1. I have no run into any write protections using clone dvd yet.

2. It does not allow me to choice my burning speed. . is that a problem

3. It gives me the abilitiy to customize either full burn, menu's or custom, which adversily effects my quality.

Would you recommend staying with this program or do the con's outway the pro's as far as this program compared to others.

I'm may not be the smartest guy around here but here is my advice:

I use dvdClone as well along w/ dvd fab decrypter incase you do run into disc protection problems--i have the latest version from slysoft.com and it alows me to choose my burning speed......which yes can cause you problems because burning to fast may cause errors,,,,its suggested to burn at 4x if your disc are capable of that,,,,,i always burn at 1x just to be safe, why hurry?

I tried using Nero Dvd Shrink Dvd Decrypter and DVDX Platinum as well as DVD Express and always had problem after problem but i finally ended up w/ the current set up which as i stated earlier is dvd fab decrypter and the dvdclone to burn which has been running smoothly ever since, so if it works for you i say keep the setup!!!

dvd fab used to be free but now its costing $$$ but i belive the latest package is about 53 dollars and you get lifetime upgrades plus all the burning tools (basically what dvdclone does) i dont know how that works but you could also try that if you wanna pay--

hope i could help!!

DVD Clone and CloneDVD are different programs, So the right name needs to be used if an error was made. There are so many CloneDVD apps it makes my head swim. CloneDVD2 from Slysoft is the better of the bunch that I'm aware of.

CloneDVD2 is one of those middle of the road decent transcoders. Quick and easy, but not the highest quality. For the best quality, it's hard to beat a true encoder such as Cinema Craft Encoder. With Rebuilder, CCE is now easy to use. The setup is called RB/CCE. So, that goes for the lesser Clones as well. ;)

Without knowing which app you're talking about, the rest of the questions are sort of meaningless. If you have an app and it does the job for you and you like it, the only reason to change would be if you found better and thought the change worth acquiring the new app.
