I understand you need a 1.5 psp to run games off a memory stick, but was wondering if all games work in this manner or if there are any that dont? Also I remember hearing something about some of the newer games you have to update your filmware to play them, is this true and if so what games are like this?

Some games you will need v2.00 to play.. Like GTA

Some older games require a different firmware version to play, but all they do is look at your PSP to see if it has the version they require. In these cases you can use a small program to make your PSP say it's a higher version than it really is and the game playes. Newer games are actually encrypted with the higher firmware, so you must have the required firmware or higher to decrypt the game and be able to play it. There is no way to fake these games as of now. Grand Theft Auto and The Hustle are two games I know offhand that need 2.0 firmware.
