Hello All,
I am new to the forum but not new to DVD burning. I use DVD shrink and have DVD decrypter. After reading and bouncing around this site for a while I have noticed a few things and would like a confirmation for you all if you please.....

AnyDVD is the best way to copy Sony DVD's. Please confirm so I can get it.

I have been having the hardest time "ripping" them (ISO file) with DVD Decrypter. Either I must be stupid in reading the "help/instructions" or I must be stupid in performing the instructions.

Please confirm on AnyDVD?

It does have a 21 day free trial so just download it and try it for yourself! :)

But I can also state that AnyDVD will do the best job and is well worth the money!

IMO AnyDVD is a great program and is well worth the money. You can get a 21 day trial period for both AnyDVD and CloneDVD from http://www.slysoft.com You can also try the free ripper DVDFab Decrypter which handles the newer protected movies better than DVD Decrypter, which has no more updates. Available from http://www.filepedia.com Try the programs out and see if they work for you.

Thx for the confirmations....

Are the instructions easy to read and thus complete?

Sometimes these computer/software instructions are a hard read and make things way more complicated than needed and creating undue stress levels for the operators.

I concur. AnyDVD is well worth the money.

Here is a thread which can guide you with DVDdecrypter usage.

Wow....thx so much....that is what I am talking about....easy to follow instructions with screen prints. This is going to be so easy. I can actually see where I was making my mistakes now and I haven't even tried to follow the instructions. Thx again so much. I will keep you all informed on my progress.

One other ??....

I noticed that AnyDVD was in the instructions of that thread with all of the screen prints.....How would AnyDVD work with that?

AnyDVD is an encryption breaking program that runs in the task tray and removes encryptions.

Here is how it works. You start AnyDVD and will see a red fox head in the task tray. That is how you know it is running. Now put in the DVD that you want to rip. Wait about 20 to 30 seconds for the fox head to go pale and then return dark read. Once it has done this, the encryptions have been removed. Now open the ripping program and proceed.

Simple.

Thx again....
So basically you are saying that I need to get AnyDVD let it do its thing and then follow the instructions listed above w/DVD decrypter?

When we say that AnyDVD is running in the background, it's almost like it's not there. Once you have it loaded, and the Fox as 9mm states is normal red and not pale, then it fools all the other burner programs into thinking the disk is NOT copy protected.

You should be able to just use Shrink to rip/compress by having AnyDVD running in the background, you do not always need to rip first with Decrypter. You can use AnyDVD with a number of programs such as CloneDVD or Nero Recode. As ScubaBud states it makes the disk look like it is unprotected
