did anyone get Stealth to RIP using AnyDvd and DVD Dycripter? I was able to get all the video files except for the first VOB, it just won't rip...is there any of the settings i can change that might make it work? Thanks for the help. (I read some of the other forums but it was taking too long to read) the only thing i got out of it was to try that FabDVD...)

I'm using version 5272 (AnyDVD)...I let it run in the backround while i used dycripter, but DVDdycripter won't RIP the #1 VOB file...it just pauses and give me an error message

It can be telling you the disc has a problem (well that's kinda obvious :) )
it usually means that the disc or that part is dirty/scratched/bad press. Try cleaning it off.
Also try this - in decrypter if using AnyDVD change this setting: go to tools>settings>i/o tab>check ELBYCDIO
If that doesn't work try ripping with dvdfab decrypter.
I used AnyDVD w/ CloneDVD - not a hitch.

Maybe I will try CloneDVD, but will that allow me to copy just the movie files?...I don't really want the menues and the extras, plus that causes it to compress too much...I've never used dvdShrink, instead i use DVD2One, its been working ok thus far...maybe i'll try fabdvd, any other suggestions on getting the #1 VOB file to RIP? Thanks.

Captin6, don't worry I have your solution. Its simple. I had that problem too and looked into it.
You have to use DVD Fab its free, look for it. Decrypt the DVD with that and use normal procedure, with DVD Shrink and burn with anything else, I personally use Nero 6. This will do the trick.

Stealth DVD has new Sony protection that DVD Decrypter can't decrypted, but we're always ahead of those protection problems :)

Hope this helps, and solves your problem.

Ok, JDaRipper I'm almost there!...I used DVD Fab and selected the option to burn just the movie files, but the program only ripped about 1.2 gigs of the movie, I think it only ripped 1 VOB File...I selected the first file which showed as being 2 hours long...it looks like this..

VTS_01 01 [02:00:54] 16:9 (and there was a checkmark in front of this...there were also a series of files below this but i could not check more than one at a time...

You can always dl a 21 day trial of CloneDVD and use AnyDVD. Yes it does have an option to do movie only.
Another method - free - that will also handle this movie:
Rip with DVDFab Decrypter - this will rip the whole movie - then process thru shrink using re author to do movie only then burn with decrypter.
Here's a guide:

What region are you in? AnyDVD w/ Clone should handle this one (I'm in region 1) but I wonder if your in another region that just had this released.
I'm thinking if this is region 1 you have a bad press. To many progs that you've tried that will work w/ this movie are giving you the same error. You can exchange it or try isobuster w/ AnyDVD running. This prog will just rip the disc to your hd. Then you could process as usual w/ clone, shrink, dvd 2one. You can download is here:
http://www.isobuster.com/
Almost forgot one more thing to try - tweak some of your decrypter settings - see this guide:

Well, I'm region 1 as well (USA) and i was able to do a full disk RIP with FABDVD, but that method rips the movie into 2 files for 2 dvds, and all i want is the movie files itself...I can't seem to accurately identify the files once they've been ripped in the full disk mode.

The movie would be in the video_ts folder and the movie would be a VOB file - a large one. If you have shrink you would go to re author pull up the folder the movies in and it will show the main movie file under main movie. You would just drag this file to the left.
For clone use the main movie only option then pick the folder the movie is in - clone will pick the main movie file only.

clone couldn't even rip the movie, while dvdfab only ripped the first VOB file...seems like no matter what program i use, there's always a catch to prevent me from ripping the movies files...very interesting, but aggravating as well

OK Captain6,

As I have suggested to others, Try using Super DVD Copy (http://www.dvdtodivx.net/sdcinst.exe)

Use Super DVD Copy to rip it to a desktop file, then use DVD Shrink to compress it, then burn it with Nero. Super DVD Copy has no settings to worry about, it just rips and will repair the flaws of the dvd movie. It's foolproof!!!! Just try it! It does not matter what protection it has on it (and this software has not been updated to the new copy protection, but it still rips!), it will do the job. Just remember that when it ask you if you want to split the dvd, click "NO", and you're good to go.

On a nother note, I'm starting to think that there's a bias against simplicity, because no one can boast there technical knowledge of the different function of a somewhat complex program. Well with Super DVD Copy, there's nothing techincal, it just get's the job done without given yourself an "ANEURYSM"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please give feed back if you try this foolproof method. Thanks!

Ron

Your a good man, HolleyRon. I used that program and it RIPED the movie fine. You saved me a lot of hassle with that disk. That program is so simple. I did however get a windows error when there was 7 seconds remaining, its that common error that people get that says something about windows cannot...or the program encountered an error and must be shut down, and then it gives the option to send or not send the error report. But even with that error, i was able to convert and burn the files with Nero. And I was able to burn just the main movie files like i wanted to!!! Thanks!

(In all fairness to the error that i just spoke of, that could have been related to some other program or something on my computer, and nothing to do with the ripping program)

I've had problems also.

I tried Super DVD Copy and it encountered an error right at the end.

But then i tried DVDFab Decrypter and it worked, there's only one slight problem. Once ripped the movie only had a file size of about 2.3Gb, is this normal for DVDFab. I put the files into DVD Shrink and everything seemed fine.

Looks like DVDFab also shrinks the file when ripping them.

@arekisu
No fab decrypter is just a ripper - only ripping 2.3 gig doesn't sound right. Make sure you are using the latest version 2.9.6.8.

What brand/model of dvd drives is everyone using? I've tried movies like this one with a NEC, lite-on, pioneer and optorite and still have the issues using AnyDVD, CloneDVD, decrytper, dvdfab, DVD43, and pcgedit with the psl2 plugin and I get the errors reguardless. Pcgedit with pdl2 plugin even says there is no protection on the disc, that it's just a normal i/o error and not protection.

Any ideas?
