ive acquired everything to downgrade from 2.0 to 1.5 but been new to psp stuff ive found that mine is 2.01 what i want to know is.is 2.01 the same as 2.0 just shortened or is it a differant version completelty and if i tried downgrading 2.0 to1.5 would it knacker my psp can anybody help

basically i want is to be able to play downloaded games and reading the forums 1.5 is the only version u can need help

yes 1.5 is the only version that can play iso, u can use fastloader for an exmample, i think i am right, ive neva had 1.5 but only 2.1

can u shed some more light on the matter or what to do or use im still confused as simple as you can im a psp virgin and havn,t lost my cherry yet thanks

well read my FAQS guide (in my sig) that will send you on your way to losing it
you CANT downgrade 2.01 ( i know i have one)
the only differnce between 2.0 and 2.01 - is security updates
security updates that stops you downgrading

sorry for being a pain but just a few more questions
1-can i upgrade in order to downgrade if not will it ever become possible to downgrade 2.01
2-having 2.01 is there any way of playing downloaded games from my mem stick

4-if answers 1-3 are no. is ebay the best place for the fucking thing

But to answer your questions

Answer: No Upgrading to 2.5 or 2.6 is just as undowngradable as 2.1
2.having 2.01 is there any way of playing downloaded games from my mem stick
Answer: No, you must have 1.5 in order to download game ISOs to your memory card and play them.
3.can security updates be removed.
Answer: No they apply to the version and cannot be changed due to the fact that when 2.1 came out it included something to protect the PSP OS from malicous code such as the Overflow.Tiff exploit.
I am sure with time though people will find ways to overcome this. On the other hand Fantija I believe is how you spell it correct me if I'm wrong, but this person has created the first homebrew for 2.5 and 2.6 using GTA LCS. Such as Tetris was created I have no idea what other things have been created besides this, but this just goes to show you that back when 2.5 came out people were calling it the PSP Devil and what not. Now that we have come this far we might be able to crack the 2.5 and 2.6 since now we actually have gotten the Overflow.Tiff to freeze the PSP but no changes took place so that project is over. Well I hope I answered your question. If anyone has any other things that might answer this question feel free to post

Oops to answer question 4. Yes eBay might be a good place to look or possibly Lik-Sang might have 1.5 PSPs. With eBay its not a sure bet that you will get what your looking for.
