I am using DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.6.8 and not having success copying "The Fog". It worked fine for Flightplan. I use Shrink 3.2.0.15 for encoding and DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 for burning. Anyone else running into this problem?

Have you tried using DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 for ripping to your HD. If you haven't, hit Mode, File. Hopefully Decrypt will work for ya.

How does AnyDVD work if you don't have the disk..??

I ripped FOG w/FAB... 7802 mb... the [individual] main title VOBs come up "unknown format" if you try to play w/power dvd. Shrink 3.2 won't open the files... but Shrink 2.2 opens everything w/o the MAIN title... this is what happens if I process files w/VOB blanker 2.1... it processes everything BUT the main title..?? Any settings to try, other than default..??... I'm not that saavy w/VOB blanker.

When you hit 'play movie' at the main menu... it starts just before the credits start, at the end. This is the first title I can't backup [so far]... did 'cave' a couple weeks back... no prob. Something is weird in 'the fog'..!!..??

Hey guys, I used recode 2 for Flightplan and it was flawless...works in all players. I did the Fog with CloneDVD 2 and again no problems. AnyDVD in the background.

I'm assuming we're talking about the Fog 2005? If so, I just backed it up today. I'm still using AnyDVD 5.6.3.1 and with Shrink to compress it and decryptor to burn it, I had zero issues. Yes, I know, there's a newer version of AnyDVD but I don't wanna install it until the supposed kinks with Shrink are worked out.

Anyway, if you can't use AnyDVD, i'm sure VOB blanker can help.

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

Flightplan processed earlier no prob... FOG is totally different.

>>AnyDVD 5.8.2.1 with DVD Shrink worked fine for The Fog

yeh, maybe... I already ripped the original w/FAB... the ripped files don't process. I just ran VOB blanker 2.1 w/full scan... no diff... the 7802mb original processes to 3046mb... no main title..!!!

My original 'fog' was widescreen version... not sure if there is even a 4x3 version available..??

yeh... that's the version I tried... unfortunately, I didn't install it until AFTER "Fog" was already ripped w/FAB.

I haven't totally given up... but I may be SOL.

@ours2burn You should have no trouble using AnyDVD and shrink to rip the files and I used Nero to burn. Just use what you normally use to burn the file. I see you don't have Nero.

Hi Bonestwo. Flightplan was easy. I used the programs I mentioned above and had no trouble. Actually I think I know what the problem is with The Fog. The DVD itself is bad. It froze a couple of times right near the end of the movie approximately where the file stopped in DVDFab Decrypter. I will return the DVD for another and give it another try. By the way this is a great forum. Thanks for all the quick responses!

I'm still trying to use the strategies you guys tried using. I opened and downloaded the AnyDVD 5.2..or whatevre the new version..and it's then decrypted it using DVD Shrink 3.2. Then when I try burning onto a DVD...using CloneDVD2. It says..Invalid Block Start..

Any suggestions solutions?

I'm a noob

The answer to THE FOG is right here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/293994

No AnyDVD, no DVD43, no hustle, no black screens, no glitches whatsoever, always 100% success.

All you need to do is follow the guide carefully and you'll be fine. I suggest those that needed helps to have a successful backup of THE FOG needs to read all of the instructions + *NOTE that I put in the guide. Some people are making mistakes of NOT listening to me and either DIDN'T get the latest of VobBlanker 2.1.0.0 or they're having DVD43 or other cracking engines running in the background, therefore, it's giving them errors.

Like I said, just follow the guide bits and bits and you'll be fine.

REMEMBER... no AnyDVD, no DVD43, all the tools I provided are FREE, except for Nero.
