dear friends ,i just become a member and i was reading you guys but i can tell you that the fog it have a new proteccion system ,since i am copying movies since day one ,with decrypter and dvdshrink.
now with old version of shrink ,like 2.2 the main title it is not there ,but if you riped of to the hard drive using dvdfabdecryter ,and then you open that file on dvdsrhink 2.2 (i have not tried the 3.2 ) it open everything and you can choose the main movie and copy it to the hard drive so you can open the Nero and burn it . keep this on mine ,the dvd disc have to be able to play even on a 30 u$ player so they can do anything rare on the disc ,that can be solve later for the monster that create the ripping software ,thanks gods they exist ,of course i am talking about backing up my purchase movie no??????

yup, just used the newest dvdfabdecryter + shrink 3.2.
If you get the "file to big to fit on disc" error with shrink, just run analysis and it will fix the size for compression.

Do you have the latest ver. of DVDFab Decrypter? I was able to rip the dvd with no problems with the latest ver.

I had to do the same with shrink before it would work. Shrink would report the file was to big to back up to a disk until I did the analysis. After the analysis shrink worked as normal.

After you rip the dvd with dvdfab decrypter, open the dvd with shrink("Open Files Button"). Then do a deep analysis, it's the button on the main page of shrink next to the "Open Files" button at the top.

Hi well yesterday night i used the dvdfab decrypter on "the fog" everything went fine. but after that, when i try to open the file with shrink it gives me an error saying
( invalid data in file "C:\documents adn settings \owner\mydocuments\my movies\thefog\dvd\video_ts\vts_22_0.vob" )
i don't know what to do ? i can't open it with shrink and i also can not use Nero because it is not compressed.
so i tried to use VOB and then after using VOB if i try to use shrink it will say
( failed to open " C:\documents and settings\owner\my documents\mymovies\temporary\video_ts.ifo" )

any idea what to do ?
thank you

@pleaseh If you have Nero and the file already ripped to your HD with DVDFab which is what you indicated, then you might try Nero Recode to shrink the file and then burn the movie. I tried to use Nero Recode with AnyDVD and the combo didn't work but I hadn't ripped it to the HD either. It's strange because I had no trouble with AnyDVD and Shrink set to burn with Nero. I'm still convinced that there are different encryptions placed on the same movies as they are distributed, since things that worked for me are causing other people trouble and vice versa.

Newbie here. I've been visitng your forum for a while and decided to go ahead and join. I get great advice from you guys, and you have spared me many headaches. As for the Fog, I used AnyDVD & CloneDVD, and....I just finished burning it. Now to test...
It WORKED!! (I love the little FBI warning against copying that pops up right before the movie plays.)

Finaly.well this is what i did i used first dvdfab to put in on my HD. then i used dvd clone2. this is the only way that worked. i already tried nero and shrink and none of them was working, both were giving me errors.

To burn the Fog I put in the DVD I paid for and used clone dvd 2 and may take longer to burn it. Click clone dvd and find you dvd frive with the movie in it. It will put it to your hard drive and put it back on a blank dvd.
