It is reported by the majority of members at AD that most problems are created by using Memorex discs, they use a poor quality dye and each disc seems to differ.
Suggest you choose Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden, burn at around 4X and problems should ease.

Don't Use Memorex media!!!!!! It's the worst media out there! Try and stick with TY's, Sony, Verbaitum. Stay away from anything made in taiwan. Anything made in Japan is good.

This is a quick blog. As mentioned in the media forum there's tons to threads regarding media.

Just a little correction. Verbatim is top notch media (all that I use) and it is primarily made in taiwan.

I have had about 90% sucsess with memorex dvd-rs. Half of my backups are on memorex the other on Verbatim. I usually buy cheap ones though. I burn them on a cyberhome dx162d with latest firmware. I use any dvd, dvd shrink and all is good. Some of my memorex backups are over a year old and still play fine. Never had any trouble more
with memorex then verbatim. O I usually burn at 8x or 16x too.
