Hello all, I had much success with Rosenstrasse, afterwards I deleted the audio and video folders (was that wrong?). Now DVDshrinks will analyize but will not back up. It just zapps off-screen (disappears). I uninstalled it and re-downloaded it. Same issue. Did I make a fatal error? Is there a remedy? Does this sound familiar? Please and thank you.
@Dollinky
Are you now doing a different movie? If so which movie is it? That can be one sign that shrink can't handle the copy protection. try ripping with dvd fab decrypter 1st. You should also try running a registry cleaner - there may be a conflict and this could also be the cause.
You definitely want to delete the files shrink stored when your completely done - otherwise you'll run out of hard drive space eventually.
Thanks binkie7, could you tell me where to get a registry cleaner or how to do it? I was trying to rip The Road Home (I'm into foreign films). I'm also going to look into dvd fab decrypter. Oh no, sounds like I'm becoming addicted to the chase. Please and thank you.
@Dollinky
I use registry mechanic - easy prog to use. Here's a link to download a trial:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=3306 Also shrink is very cpu intensive so no multi tasking while running it.
Download dvd fab decrypter - a free prog that will have the newer copy protections that shrink can't then you process thru shrink as usually. Here's link for that:
http://www.dvdidle.com/free yes this can be addicting :)
Oh and your welcome!!
Hello all, I finally figured out why my Shrinks wouldn't back up. Two reasons, after reading about a trillion posts, gathering clues, and going through a process of elimination. My 'puter is brand spanking new so I knew it wouldn't take too long. I hope it helps at least one other person. Reason #1: I installed the Nero program that had the bug 6.6.1.4. This was confirmed when I got Shrinks to work ONLY if Nero was uninstalled. I burned for a whole month installing and uninstalling each time I was ready to burn 3 or 4 in one sitting. Then of course I would have to uninstall again.
Reason #2: My anti-virus program blocked the shrinks program without telling me. I found out when I tried to access shrinks through every possible angle then finally Norton proudly informed me that it blocked the program for my "added security" and then gave me the option to override the block. Problem solved !! I know this won't help everyone, but it helped me. Hurray, I'm back in the game !!!
