I HAVE TO ADMIT.....
AnyDVD & CloneDVD are the bomb.
Forget doing the TRIAL....BUY THE DAMN THING IMMEDIATELY!!
Using AnyDVD & CloneDVD will make the process of "doing" FLIGHTPLAN a breeze.
To be honest with you....
DVDShrink & Decrypter seem obsolete as compared to AnyDVD & CloneDVD.
Damn...I love those 2
Any and all concerns will resolved with those 2 programs. Trust me. I spent 5 hrs attempting to "do" FLIGHTPLAN until I finally broke down and spent the $58 for AnyDVD & CloneDVD. The best money I have ever spent next to my FoodSaver Vaccum Packer.

@Dawnz
So once the files are ran thru VOB blanker, just open up those files, not the first set, but the ones processed by Blanker, in shrink, or recode, or clonedvd2, or whatever,, and it should work. It did for me. Encoded the whole thing and burned with no problems.
@Vette,
You may need to be using DVD+R discs and booktype them to DVD-ROM. This sounds like a disc compatibility issue, and not a movie not being ripped properly problem. If you don't know how to do that, just do a search on "booktype" or "booktyping" and you should see plenty of threads on how to do this. I have a stand alone player that is supposed to only record on DVD-R, but when i put a good Ty -R disc in there it says "no disc", or "un-specified format". Take the same disc, rip it to a DVD+R booktyped to DVD-ROM and the thing plays perfectly.

I should mention i am doing a region 1 disc. It is a touchstone picture, not Sony, but it seems to use the same anti-copy methods Sony has. So, just to re-cap what worked for me and how i did it:
Method 1. AnyDVD version 5.8.3.1 running in the background and CloneDVD2 as the ripper.
Method 2.
A. DVD Decrypter to extract files to HD.
B. Use VOB Blanker to process extracted files using the idiot proof 1,2,Go method.
C. Shrink and Burn using programs of choice.
I can't get it to not work using that last method. As long as i follow my own instructions. Maybe if i went in and messed with things in VOB Blanker, i could get it to not copy, but i didn't do that. Just make sure you have the latest versions of the software, and it should be sooo easy to get this one. I know ppl are having problems, not to make light of that, just try either method listed, and you should be a happy burner. Re-rip files with AnyDVD or DVD43 OFF, if you are using the VOB Blanker method. The blanker method added something like 10 minutes to the regular process.
I don't know what else to say to the ppl having problems other than you may have a bad press on your original movie. Maybe they added something else to other regions, but that wouldn't stop VOB Blanker.

Did Flightplan yesterday full screen region1 with shrink and AnyDVD.latest in background. Only problem I had was it took about 1 - 1 1/2 - hours to encode. Other than that, nothing was any different than any other movie shrink handles. Surprised to hear of problems, kinda makes me think you may need latest AnyDVD. Also had latest DVD Region + Css Free in background, maybe that helped. Watched the movie and entire original copied perfect. Hope this helps.

@EricFresh,
That program you are using is kind of like DVD43 or AnyDVD in that it is supposed to crack things in the background. I never used it before, and forget to mention it most of the time.
@arniebear
Yep, thats why i tried the free program method also. To see if it would work without the paid for programs. AnyDVD worked perfectly for me first time, and only after seeing ppl post having problems with that movie, then i turned off AnyDVD to see what kind of errors i got. It does have some anti-copy stuff in there, but blanker handled it easily. It is a regular part of my DVD arsenal now.

AnyDVD and Clone are the best combo out there, and you get the most bang for your buck with them. But not everyone can buy, so it is always good to know that the free programs still work, even though the pay are easier and updated. I do not use DVD Region+CSS Free mainly because I have AnyDVD and do not want to pay out for another program that does the same thing, if you want free then use DVD43 it will work like DVD Region+CSS Free.

Hallelujah!!! Finally after burning 6 DVD's that would only play in the computer's DVD player and not the home unit I got it to work.
Here's what I used:
I started off with AnyDVD running in the background.
Then I decrypted it with DVDFab Platinum v2.9.6.9
Note: You can probably get away with using DVD Decrypter v3.5.4.0 it
should do the same thing as DVD Platinum will.
Important!!!
Just rip the MAIN MOVIE (forget all the other crapola) to your hard drive (Target)... In DVDFab Platinum there is a box to check for just copying the main movie (Copy mode). Just hit start and let it copy the files to your hard drives "Target" folder.
Next:
After that finishes run VOBblanker on the files in your Target folder. Don't mess with any settings other than your source and destination folders. Once you have the folders set... press "Process".
After VOBblanker finishes use DVD Shrink and Nero to burn it.
Works like a charm!!!

or you can just download dvd region css free and get the entire movie in 3 steps rather than 6 with all these other programs.
trust me guys i just did both movies and there great!!!
Run Dvd Region free css (newest version)
open dvd shrink(3.2)
burn as a iso with Nero.
takes about 10 mins and you get the whole movie..
i dunno

Go to page 1 of this thread and see Maxburn's post on VOB blanker. What error are you getting? When you click on browse just open the folder you put the movie in.
I also tried this movie w/ dvdfab decrypter and shrink - full backup and AnyDVD not running. Ripped w/ fab then processed thru shrink. Not a problem. If you don't process it thru vobblanker there will be a 7 seconds delay when playing as Arniebear and Maxburn pointed out.

Maxburn,
Just a quick note to thank you for your help with this movie. I always turn to this forum when having troubles and i just knew after trying to get this movie ripped that the answer would be waiting for me here. VOB Blanker works great and once used DVD Shrink had no problems.
Thanks again,
Doug.

Yes - then in open files in shrink pick the folder where you had fab decrypter save it - "My dvd folder" (from your post).
But if you want to avoid the delay in the beginning run those files thru VOB blanker 1st. See MaxBurn's posts on page 1.

I just backed this one up myself I use 1ClickDVD to copy to a folder on my hard drive while running the latest version of AnyDVD and burn to disk with Intervideo 4. These Programs have never given me an error code almost all of the other programs listed in this thread I have personally tried and almost all have given me error codes I have found that certain movies have extra files on the original discs that will mess up the copy
some movies wont work right if you copy the whole disc and some wont play right if you copy movie only these are rare instances with very very few movies but if one wont play right try it another way. the setup of your computer affects this a lot also check your file transfer mode is set to DMA or ultra DMA (UDMA) this will affect your speed and quality/usability what programs do you have running in the background ?
I shut down everything anti-virus and anti-spyware just remember to turn it back on when completed. What hardware are you running ? do you have plenty of ram some of this DVD software takes a lot of ram to run if you run out of ram the programs wil stop or pause for a period of time causing a bad copy do you have enough system memory what processor a pentium 2 or a slow pentium 3 can cause DVD copy problems or complications as you can probably tell by now there are a lot of variables more than what i have listed check everything including media I have found that DVD+R does not always want to play in most DVD players I prefer to use DVD-R the brand can even make a differance there are almost too many variables to list I am also tired of typing and need a little turkey-n-coke
oh yea VOB is the type of file

Just use Shrink and DVD43 and quit farting around with those other programs that always need adjustments.

You can even save one more step. If running AnyDVD or DVD43 just go to VobBlanker 1st(you don't have to rip to HD 1st). Set source target & process. Then open your folder in Shrink. Either put on Harddrive or burn to disc.

Which prog is giving your this error - i'll assume shrink since 1: that's the error I rec'd using it by it's lonesome 2: we're in a shrink thread. Have you tried the other progs and methods used in this thread? If not try them - they work!

Flightplan is nothing special, VobBLanker 2.1.0.0 can kill it easily. Below is what I did and I can confirmed that it worked 100% flawlessly. I've watched/tested my backup and it played beautifully. In addition, VobBLanker has never let me down, so far it has been processing junks/craps awesomely.
All you need to do is: *all tools are FREE, except for Nero*
<> rip the movie with DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.6.8 or higher
<> or ript the movie with DVD Decrypter via Mode, File F
<> VobBLanker 2.1.0.0 to PROCESS and filter out junks/craps fake/dummy cells
<> transcode with DVD Shrink or Nero Recode 2 (your choice)
<> and burn with any of your desire VIDEO_TS burning engines
No AnyDVD, no DVD43, no hustle, no black screens, no glitches whatsoever, always 100% success.
Good luck!!
