look if you went to edited by ddp to download the latest version of ANYDVD there is a seperate link to download the it says
download it unzip it double click on the file that says and follow simple instuctions ensure that the programs you are patching are not running and restart your computer

when you put in your original disc in your single drive and use CloneDVD when it is ready for the blank disc it will kick out the original and ask for the blank

I also use one drive follow simple instuctions from program

and try to calm down and relax and have a couple of drinks of whatever your poison is

@jdawg01,
It appears from the responses, that mixell is unfamiliar with the use of shrink or decrypter and what to do with the files they create, so AnyDVD would not be of any use to him either.

He needs to be shown how to use these apps and what the files they create mean, only then can he know what to do with them and get his backup.

Mixell follow the guides provided and get familiar with decrypter and shrink, otherwise all theses instructions won't mean anything.

mixell,
If you don't know how to use DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink, go to the guides. Now they used to be here on AD, but they had to remove them due to legal issues. Maybe someone will post a link to a guide. (im at work, so i dont' have my links handy). It was not my intention to write a guide on how to use every program listed just for this movie. YOU have to do some work, like reading up on how to use programs, if you are confused. It is not my intention to hold your hand and walk you thru each and every step. Maybe you can find someone to do that, but it takes lots of time to put up pictures and go thru steps already done in a guide. I don't have that kind of free time.
In answer to one of your questions
Quote:
and, when you say extract using mode files F, WHAT files? which of the 150 or so (!!!) that come up on DVD Decrypter am i to choose? what to choose first, "choose movie only plus IFO" or not??? i wish people giving directions would give step by step directions.
Choose all of them.

I guess I need to spell it for some poeple. DVD Shrink and DVD Decryptor and all of the other programs that all of you keep telling him to use are not simple programs. You dont have to do anything to Any DVD but turn it on for it to work and work really good. Clone DVD is one of the most simple copy programs that you can use and I have told him how to get them for free. Please try to quit complicating things for him!!!!!!!

I have been doing this for a very long time. I have backed up literally thousands of movies. I have shown / instucted dosens of people on how to do this.

Please read the signature that I use

You might want to edit your posts about AnyDVD and the 'patch'. Piracy is like a no no at aD.
Let's support one of the few developers left out there that stay one step ahead on copy protection.

How about directing them to slysoft instead? The site you list is questionable at best (hint). I would hate to see a knowledgable member booted! Just looking out.

If we want good back-up software, we should support it by buying the product, if it's worthwhile. AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 are well worth the investment. I almost never get a coaster and have tried, and own, several other products.

Ok, the reason i did this with VOB Blanker was to see what kind of protection is there, and to try to help ppl who cant afford AnyDVD, ie.. going the free route. Yes it is slightly more complicated than running just AnyDVD and CloneDVD2, which i have, and yes they work great. But its not that much more complicated than a normal rip process. All we added is VOB Blanker to the process.
After some of the responses on this thread, i am re-thinking my helping out everyone approach. I did this to help, and tried to keep it simple, but i am not going to write a guide on how to use each and every program. I am not trying to complicate things, but un-complicate them as much as possible using the free methods. I have done 10 replies to this post. It looks like i may have helped some ppl with this, and others got confused.

Yes, binkey7 said that on the very first reply to this message, and you and i and many others posted about using AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 and how great they were. Yet mixell still posted he still needed help with this. It is real easy to say use AnyDVD and many ppl have posted that. It isn't so easy to show how to do it without AnyDVD. I am learning that real quickly. Also we try to post our replies with many ppl in mind, not just one specific person. Not everyone has or can afford AnyDVD. For those who don't use AnyDVD, the VOB Blanker method works. If it is too complicated, try something else, but dont blame me for a process being too complicated. I didn't make the programs. I think i am just going to stick with fixing Nero burn logs. There the only argument we seem to get in is over using bad media. You guys can have this thread,,, its starting to give me a headache and i dont need it.

Right on MaxBurn!! I'm with my buddy MaxBurn hands down.

If you have AnyDVD, then use it wisely. If you don't have AnyDVD then VobBLanker will solve your misery, no question asked period, simple as that. Why??? Because VobBLanker is FREE, plus it can easily PROCESS and FILTER out craps/junks, dummy cells or encrypted cells that DVDFAB Decrypter or DVD Decrypter did not successfully cracked/decrypted.

If anyone (anybody) here can READ, then there's no reason that he/she CAN NOT use VobBLanker, all it does is a 3 simple steps: (1) "input = source from ripped files", (2) "output = target or destination folder", then (3) PROCESS. If YOU CAN READ ENGLISH, then there should not be any more complicated than running AnyDVD in the background.

I'm not dissin' AnyDVD or anything (I know I'll use it one day in the far future), but just so you all know that by next week or 2 more weeks from now or a month from now, I still can rip with my old DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.6.6 or 2.9.6.8 or DVD Decrypter via Mode, File F (90%) and process with the same VobBLanker 2.1.0.0 and I'm sure I'll have a successfully backup when new release (movies) hit the market. But if you DON'T keep your AnyDVD updates (up-to-date), then you're definitely is going to fail trying to backup those new release. Cheers!!

Just in case some of you have no clue to what I'm talking about, here's a picture for reference.

Well I think you have gone above and beyond just like alkohol has with his great guides. I really wasn't paying too much attention to the posts on this thread but the patch bit caught my eye and I totally missed what you quoted!!
Your right not everyone can afford AnyDVD w/ or w/o clone but a least members here show others free alternatives that work but take a few more steps. Complicated well that depends on the user. Where there's a will there's a way.

Thanks, my buddy alkohol! I looked at this thread from the begining and first binkey7 said to use AnyDVD, and then i said the same thing, but posted i would try the VOB Blanker method. After that post, 13 more ppl said to use AnyDVD... Yes, we know AnyDVD works.. i said this in my first reply..
Like you said, if ppl can READ and follow simple instructions, they should be able to get this movie no sweat.
Also when someone posts
Quote:
help w flightplan on DVD Decrypter or DVD Shrink--shrink will NOT read the movie files; decrypter i can use
What i got from that post was they had DVD Decrypter, and Shrink, and said they could use the programs. If you can use DVD Decrypter, you can use VOB Blanker. IF anything it is easier to use than Decrypter..
But, alkohol you are the man on VOB Blanker, and i will let you suggest/defend this program. You seem to have much more patience than i. I can only say how easy something is to use like 4 or 5 times, then i start to wonder if ppl are reading what we post.
I too have made probably closer to a thousand burns rather than thousands but still, i know what i am doing. To quote "the wolf" from Pulp Fiction: "Gentlemen i am here to help. If my help is not needed or wanted Hasta la vista baby."

@binkie7

Thanks for the compliment.

Again, all I'm trying to do is to help those that DON'T have AnyDVD that's all. Like I said earlier, if you have AnyDVD, then use it wisely, use it to the fullest.

Honestly, I just don't know why people are making it so hard regardless if it's AnyDVD or VobBLanker. The only difference is VobBLanker is FREE and it needed to rip with DVDFAB Decrypter or DVD Decrypter via Mode, File F into the hard drive frist. On the other hand, with AnyDVD, you can just shrink/transcode it with either DVD Shrink or Nero Recode 2.

Hence, I even see other members with AnyDVD and still struggling trying to backup THE FOG or Flightplan. In addition, even with the simple/beautiful guide I put and Newbies still having issues, LOL. I just don't get some people these days. The truth is... if you can read and follow, then there should not be any issue(s) whatsoever.

Best of lucks to all and happy burning!!

Thanks Binkey7. I tried, but i guess i let the frustration get to me. I also sort of got slammed for making things too complicated, and that started to change my attitude. How much more complicated is adding one program and hitting 3 buttons on it??? It looks complicated, but looks can be deceiving. Just check out the hookers on main street. Some of them are really GUYS that just look like chicks!! Base everything upon looks, and you are going to have problems in life. Not directing that at you binkey7, just a statement for ppl in general.
I need a stiff drink now, and i have 6 more hours of work before i can get one. :(

You're doing good buddy and I'm with you here. All we did was trying to send a message saying that "VobBlanker is FREE" and it works that's all -- especially, for those that DON'T HAVE AnyDVD.

If Newbies or those that needed helps don't want to pay any attention, then it's all good. I could careless because I'm not the one who's struggling trying to have a successful backup, LOL.

And yes... we're on the same side here buddy, I've tons and tons (thousand) of backups under my belt (Alkohol), so with that being said, if Newbies are going to whine and saying this and that too complicated, then screw it. The FACT/TRUTH is... if they can READ then there should not be any more harder than simply activate AnyDVD and let it runs in the background with those settings. All VobBLanker does is... input, output, PROCESS.... and now I can go and have my brew.

Cheers and I'll see you around at the forum.

You are soo right alkohol! I shouldn't let this get to me, and should look at it like we did help some ppl get this movie, by following our instructions. So we helped some, not all, but some. That's a good thing. Can't help everyone. I only did the VOB Blanker method to see how difficult it is (wasn't difficult at all). Enjoy your brew!! I will get hammered in the AM when i get off work. Have a good one.
See ya around the forum. :)

Well I'm having a few now for the both of you!!
Your right people just need to read and follow the directions - the guides that have been done by the memebers on this site for these 'hard' movies- step by step just need to be read and followed. But one of the things I do for a living is test custom software so I should know better - the user experience & what they do is sometimes unbelieveable. No offense to anyone having problems in this thread just remember 'patience young grasshopper!

jdog, are you sure you need for AnyDVD be connected to the internet, I never heard of such a thing, I have never seen any copy program that needed that, reason I'm kinda concerned here is that whenever I copy a movie I really need to be off the internet because it conflicts to much with my burning process, like frezzing etc. I just want to make sure I undestood you right.

AnyDVD does NOT require that you be online. It's just a driver that runs in the background. If you want it to auto check for updates well then you would need to be but not to use the prog.
