Flightplan wasnt even worth burning,it was predictable all the way through and the plot stunk like a skunk.

I love Jodie Foster and all her other movies except this one,..lol

I was curious to see how tough this movie was to burn and tried using DVD Decrypter, and then shrink with DVD43 in the backround and they both failed miserbly.

I didnt even try any other program after that, because I hated the movie anyhow.

Hey Fredbun, once you download AnyDVD and install it, it is done. if you download it again and you still have time left of the 21 days, you are fine. If you do it AFTER the 21 day trial, then they have something in your registry that you can;t find to delete and it KNOWS that you had already gone past your 21 day trial and it will not work. But, they have a great deal going right now with afterdawn. If you put that in you get a $20 discount! Great time to grab full versions of AnyDVD and clonedvd2. Both of which are great products and work flawless.

I have had with problems with several movies as of late Flightplan being my most resent problem, but I solved it. Answer: the disturbter for Flightplan , Zorro, and The Fog told me when I complained about it not working in my DVD Player that these Movies were written in four different types of formats and several of the most expenive as well as the cheap DVD player would not run some of these formats. I have a Sanyo DVD player and a NEC 3520a DVD player/writer. My Sanyo DVD player would pause when playing the DVD an if I fast forward it it would jump back chapters and start all over, there were two places in the DVD that would do this. My NEC 3520a would not copy Flightplan using DVD fab Express with ANY DVD running in the backgraound it would freeze at 49% also used Clone DVD 2, and DVD Decrypter with ANY DVD running in the background with the same problem. I have tried most of the solution given without any success. I seem to alway get the same error which acted as if the DVD was scratched or damaged.
To shorten this story when the Disturbter replaced the DVD with a different format I had no problems coping Flightplan, Zorro, or The Fog. Oh, the disturbter's don't like having to replace the DVD's either, but they said they have been replaceing them. The fail rate is high if you get an incompatible format of these Movies.
This is the reason some people have no problems coping the same DVD that you can't copy, because you have one of the imcompatible formats.
Good Luck

FredBun, I agree. I have 123's software, and their direct line service was as good as any. It would probably be a powerhouse if it was still around with updates.

First I want to thank everybody that responded to my problem, my drag-to-disc was never turned on anyway, but to make sure, I removed the whole easy cd creator 6 anyway, still same problem, I asked slysoft people again about the way I downloaded it by going to save first, everytime I did it with DVD43 I ran into the same problem, I know I'm not computer savvy but for some reason it was making sense to me, well they did get back to me and let me remove it and let me re-download it, this time I ran it straight, no saving this time, quess what, it works fine, now both dvdxplat and videovault runs fine, no more css problem you don't have a dycrypter, OH YES, THANK YOU. Now why me using save first does not work go figure, the people from slysoft can't figure it out either, but thank you slysoft for giving me the chance, I have e-mailed them about this problem 4 times, and everytime I got up the next morning I had a reply, that show's me something, now I will purchase AnyDVD and clone on that fact alone.
Now my only other problem is I lent out my flightplan to my kids that went away, can't wait till they get back so I can give it another shot with AnyDVD working now.
OH BY THE WAY, I also got a new message from AnyDVD tonight, they said to download a new update, just did it, now I really can't wait for flightplan.

@fredburn
I don't think you'll be sorry buying AnyDVD and clone. Has more functionality then xcopy + it handles all movies out there. Right now if you buy both put 'afterdawn' in the 'promotion code' to get $10 off.

I followed this exact guide for the movie FLIGHT PLAN to attempt to make successful back up as I was having the same issues that people were having with The Fog. Unable to rip with DVD Shrink 3.2. Getting errors...

So I used DVD Fab Decrypter (the version listed) to rip the movie to my HD. Total size came out to 7+ GBs. Then I processed the ripped VIDEO_TS files using VOB Blanker (same version you have listed), using the automated process, which crated another big ass file on my HD. Then I encoded the data taht was processed by VOB Blanker to create a burnable image using DVD Shrink successfully. Then finally I burnt a copy of the movie using ImageBurn.

The backup movies play fine, EXCEPT FOR ONE PROBLEM....

There are small portions of the movie that are missing or have been cut out throughout the duration of the movie. The movie is suppose to have a running time of 98 min ... The image that I Burned was about 72 minutes by the time it hit the credits. I am not sure what the problem is. But it is almost as if VOB Blanker cut out actual parts of the movie. One thing that I recall is the size of the file that I ripped using FAB Decyspter was about 7.5 GB....and after is used VOB Blanker the new size of the output was 6.3...or higher. Did not strike me as a problem as I was under the impression VOB Blanker is suppose to remove some different crap.

What the heck happened?? SHould I Not have used the auto process in VOB Blanker for this movie and should have blanked out somethings manually? Or maybe am I being impacted by these cracking Engines you are talking about? And lets say these engines are running, how does this have a direct effect on VOB Blankers abilities? Regardless of the problem this is something that I would like to know... And how do you tell if these Engines are running in the background of your PC? I once had AnyDVD installed but uninstalled it as I thought it was crap.....

And what do you think?

Ran Flight Plan with AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 and got a good copy with my Plextor 716A. As for missing parts of the movie, I run into that from time to time when I use DVDFAB Plantinum.

I suggest, what ever program is use, always look at the running time on the package to ensure that the whole movie is their. Also, sometimes running DVDPlatinum and AnyDVD simultaniously works, sometimes not. The combination usually works with hard to copy DVDs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, doesn't AnyDVD have to run simultaniously with any burning program, e.g. dvdxplat which I have will not copy if AnyDVD is not on.

DVDFAB has its own decrypter, so I had two coufin engines or rippers going at the same time. That will sometimes cause confusion for the burning program, but many times it works.
Please excuse the lack of explanation on my part.

i used DVDFab Decrypter for this one (2.9.7.3 i think it was, though i may have had 2.9.7.2 installed when i did this movie). Either way i then used just DVD Shrink as per normal. sorted.
