40 Year Old Virgin skipping and locking up

I used DVD Shrink to backup 40 Year Old Virgin and it has several spots where sort of freezes and unfreezes then about half way through it gets much worse and won't continue. I burned with DVD Decrypter and still have the file saved. I tried making a new copy but have the same problem. When I shrank it I took off everything but the main movie and English subpicture. I am new at this so any help is appreciated.

What brand of media did u use? Crap media=crap copy.

What speed did u burn at? Stick to 4x unless u have high quality media like TYs/Verbatim.

What size did shrink the movie down to? Stick to 4300MB. Anything higher will be close to the edge of the disc and may/will cause problems.

I believe the DVDs are Fuji and I know I recorded at Max speed so I will try to change that. I know the file is also bigger than 4.3 so I will try that also. Can I take my file and shrink it some more with shrink without having the original DVD?

If there are errors on the burned "original" u'll probably carry them over to a new one.If u have the disc to waste u could give it a try, but you're better off getting the original and starting over.

Updating the firmware may help for the media that your using.I bought a spindle of crap discs and cold only burn half of them but I had to update my firmware just to get a decent copy out of them.Clean the original off of any smudge and burn with a new disc.
