I want to copy the Alien Quadrilogy on dvd's, I have not had success yet. I have Dvd Shrink, Decyptor , and nero 6 w/ upgrades, plus dvd copy, however i think copy is a trial version......anyway, I have not burned anything yet. A friend told me all i need is shrink, the problem is i want no compression, and i want to be able to edit out some things i don't need...like ads for the movies or extras and utilize as much space per disc as possible, can anyone help?...are there programs out there that will allow me to do this?

dvd shrink will allow you to remove ads/subtitles etc. you will find guides in the forums if you are unsure about how to remove unwanted things from the disc

Depending on the size of the movie, no compression may not be possible. If you reauthor the dvd to remove all the extras you don't want, it'll be the best you can do in terms of video quality.

Here is a basic guide:
http://www.dvdshrink.info/reauthor_basic.php

The guide will show more than on item chosen, just choose the main movie only, which is usually title 1.

is there no program out there that will allow this type of thing to be done like i could take out some items from the main movie file, remove previews and ads? Let's say there is 7.6 gigs in original movie......why can't i put half those gigs on one disk and the other half on another, in the order i specify?......Is there no way to make custom menues to allow this? I've got a dual burner, but i don't wanna pay 2 bucks a pop either. Also I've learned that not choosing the writing speed that's on the store bought discs(previously blank) can cause problems with the performance. Is there somewhere i can go to learn about developing these kinds of programs on my own outside of a college or university?...thanxs all 4 any help you can give, I really don't want to sacrifice any visual quality.

I'm still confused as to how this will impact the menu, as all the former things will not be present....will I need the menu on both discs? will the menu still work? what will happen if i select the first half of the movie on the second disc?
