Sorry if this post has already been discussed, but I can't seem to find any info on this subject. I've read to use Any dvd, vob blanker,
Dvd Fab, Shrink, Decripter, etc. and I have made many backups of other movies in the past. But now my burners just doesn't recognize
the new generation of movies...(just like their not in the tray),
this happens on a Plextor and a cheaper Emprex which has worked great in the past. I would love to try the new vob blanker techinque
but i cant get anything to my hard drive, any Ideals.

Gotta ask some questions to get and idea of what may be happening:

What movie(s) are you trying to backup?

Can you play the movies that you're trying to backup on your PC using those drives?

Can you play any movie that has played in the past on your PC using those drives?

When do you load the dvd, before or after you run shrink, decrypter, etc..?

What are the exact model#'s of the drives and do you know the firmware rev level?

The movie companies are changing the new encryptions almost with every movie release these days. Many of the decrypting programs are having a hard time keeping up with the changes. Although AnyDVD is not a free program, it is one of the fastest updated decrypters out there. It is well worth the money and has lifetime updates once you purchase it. It works best with CloneDVD 2 but will also work well behind other programs too.

I am using NEC burners and having incrimental problems as you are. I believe that the DVD companies are getting smarter and updating their scramblers more often. Just wait a few gays and I am sure that the decrypter guys will come out with some patches. They have not let us down yet. Also see if there are any firmware updates for your burner that may help as well. I will let ou know if I hear of anything.
