Is it true that region 3 movies are easier to rip than region 1? So far, I have ripped Stealth, Sky High, Brothers Grimm, Dukes of Hazzard & a whole lot of other movies - all region 3 using only DVD Shrink without AnyDVD. The only region 1 movie I ripped so far is Star Wars 3 Revenge of the Sith. That I only use DVD Shrink & no problem at all

theres a funny thing to do with this...
that is that there are some users here that have success ripping a movie under a certain region while others of another region are having difficulty doing the same disc.

i am not quite sure why this happens but taht is why many of us use AnyDVD

I think the difference between Region 3 & Region 1 are the audio features plus some special features like games & the ability to go online to get extra freebies. Region 3 only have Dolby Digital 2 & 5.1 whereas Region 1 usually comes with DTS or THX. Maybe the increased protection is on the audio side.
Yesterday I done The Cave, Legend of Zorro & Corpse Bride using only DVD Shrink without any problems at all.

Who knows except the manufacturer. In my country, Region 1 disks cost double that of Region 3. I won't get Region 1 unless it's really good like Star Wars 3.
