Ok so i've probably spent well over 200hrs trying all the guides here and the various software available but still hit brick walls all over the show!!

Ok so i hope that people will advise me the best solutions to convert my files. I mainly have AVI files that always seem to have XVID written in the title somewhere. So i assume that these files had something to do with xvid encoding somewhere along the line!!

So i've got my downloaded file that i now wish to put on dvd. My dvd player is a normal standard dvd player that does't support divx.

I need to convert these downloaded files into .vob files which can then be used in nero to burn the dvd.

I've tried winavi which just was painfully slow!!! I tried dvd santa which was decent but for some unknown reason it refused to convert files for no apparent reason or after its conversion nero wouldn't accept it so out it went!!!

Next up was avi2dvd pro edition but once agin this failed to do the job but i can't recall the reason!!

Then i tried VSodivxtoDVD and this worked a treat at converting the files!! Here you can convert more than 1 file at a time and on average to convert 4 files takes just over 1hr!! The converted files burned nicely in in nero.

HOWEVER i've noticed that there are some issues here, my audio seems to be out of sync and although i follwed the guides to use besweet and the other decompressor it seemed that after running the files through here they would create a file called myfile1_pcm. After trying to convert this file with vso so times it would fail or at other times it would work!! BUT come time to burn these files in nero it would NEVER burn any 1 of these files!! Why i don't know!!

So in simple english,i'm after an easy to use program that will deal with my audio issues and do all the necessary convertion to get it to dvd format!

Even if i had to pay for a program thats going to do the job i don't mind!!

OH yes and one last issue is dvd shrink!! Basically my understanding of this programs existance is to enable you make a file smaller so that it can fit onto a normal 4.7gb file. It also CLAIMS to have the ability to make your file REGION FREE. Despite using this program everytime i tried to burn it in nero it kept telling me that the file was an NTSC file!! Perhaps its my error but i tried with 6 different files and i made sure that in dvd shrink option i choose region free!!

So fellow people help me in my quest for zero defect please!

Since you have Nero, why not use Nero Vision for conversion and burning?

As for your DVD Shrink problem, your a little confused. NTSC is the frame rate of the movie. It has nothing to do with Region Codes. Region Codes are set up so that a disc bought in Europe (for example) will not play in North America.

VSO DivXtoDVD is one of the best you can get for converting file to DVD format..... you can even let it burn it to DVD! Maybe you have an old version of it and should update your version. This could solver your audio sync problem. Remember you are dealing with downloaded files from the internet and they already have audio sync problems! DivXtoDVD tries to adjust as best as possible but if it's really bad then it can only do soooooooo much! what version of DivXtoDVD do you have?
