Also...I read that it is better not to backup to close to the edge of the disk....How do I change that? I use DVDFAB, DVDDecryptor, and Shrink/Recode 2.

Step by Step if its not too much to ask...thanks in advance.

Some people have success with Memorex & TDK. Reason why many like myself are against those brands because those are cheap media with extra cheap quality. Your movies will work for about a year or so, but it starts deteriate over time. I only buy Sony/Fugifilm (made in japan) and Verbatim.

For your other question, you can set your DVD Shrink by going to Compression Settings and set it to 4300 mb. Can't really remember the step by step, but maybe somebody can give a better detailed instruction.

indeed...Memorex and TDK are in my sig. it's all to do with the lottery of what media you might end up with when you buy Memorex/TDK/Imation etc etc

Every Memorex I have ID'ed has come back CMC Mag.

Don't waste money on sub-standard media. Poor media deteriorates quickly (6 months to a year). High quality media can be bought for the same price if you keep an eye on the sales.

To change target DVD size in Shrink, open Shrink then choose "edit" then "preferences." Simply change DVD 5 to custom and set to 4300. See pic below.

@specops70,
Once you try any of the infamous CMC MAG disks, you'll be wanting to arrest those B@#$tards and charging them with impersonating a company which sells fake media. check out this link and look at some of the scans we have posted from poor quality media, then you'll be gaurding your stash of Verbatim, TY or Ritek like a crack dealer would be hoarding his private stash...

you see everyone's hatred for memorex in this particular thread? multiply that by 100 and that is MY hatred for TDk~ :) i can't get more to the point than that....
